Interesting first episode. I was intrigued. I liked all the character except the box-cutter wielding tragic-heroine wannabe. Get over yourself lassy. She can't be that tragic compared to our hero, can she? I mean, he's got scars all over his body.

The other objection I took was when Amane's boobs came into view and suddenly you've no more clear view. But a guy's firm ass doesn't concern Japanese censorship. Nice ass, by the way.

The way the episode came to hint at bunch of these back-stories were well done and added to the intrigue. Right now I want to know what happened in the bus to Amane and how Yuji is involved.

Looking forward to episode 2. Oh and Yuji's briefcase code is 9029.

Hmm...Grisaia no Kajitsu is the second VN anime adaption I see in this season after Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete. And wow, the difference in quality between these two shows is so much.

The first ep. really impress me. The MC is great for this type of show. The story is interesting. All characters are great. The visual is beautiful...Oh and those fanservice(s) ^^

Only bad thing in the first ep. is the censorship....At least they didn't censor panties.

I will follow this.

Depends on your definition of tragic. The original game was not a nakige unlike the Key games or Minori's Ef that were adapted in animes

Another very good episode. I like what I see, but I am quite afraid as it looks it will be battle (I hope not literal

) between Sakaki and Amane. Sakaki looks great and I will cheer for her, but already hate Amane guts (I don't have problem with sluty character in general btw).

If she will look like main heroine I might drop it despite strong atmosphere and appealing plot .

Apparently I was right. The two main animators on the show are Masayuki Nonaka and Enishi Oshima, both Dogakobo regulars. You can see their work all over Love Lab (that's pretty much why I thought about Dogakobo, Michiru's scenes reminded me of the those smoothly animated scenes from Love Lab).

good series....
Started playing the game weeks ago but lack of time because of work made me give up temporarily.
I played it like 6 hours, but this one episode of 20 minutes gave more spoilers than what i found out in the game so far.
gonna resume playing between the episodes so i can clear all the routes before the series ends.

Wow. That was pretty damn good. I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting anything that good. The main character feels a bit like Sosuke Sagara... but not dense... I'm already very intrigued. This looks like it will be good.

I know nothing about the game or its story, but the feel I got from the first episode is that this will turn into a survival, last person standing, story. (Please don't confirm or deny my speculation!) I liked all the characters we've met (are going to meet??) to varying degrees with a special attraction to the boy. (Which shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me.

If you want to do any sort of comparison regarding what was already shown (nothing future), it must be entirely behind properly-labelled spoiler tags. No tips, no suggestions, no para-anime explanations, no correcting speculation, no game-only insight. This sort of deeper game comparison and speculation could go in the (until now under-used) game thread instead.

Very interesting episode. i'm definitely in. It reminded me a bit of Higurashi. I like the concept pretty much so far. Or at least what I could get so far. A normal school with normal girls that are not normal is already a good change of pace, since it has the possibility to play around with all the usual antics and turn them to the dark side or use them for a real reason instead of just because. First example, Amane half naked body used, I suppose, to confuse the MC. She was trying to check something about him. did she kill her sister? We will see. Sadly (for her, not for us) he is not that kind of guy.

For now I'm expecting that every girl is somehow connected to him and has her reason to kill(?) him, or be in contrast with him. Don't know if they will be related to each other or each of them has a personal story on her own not related to the other girls. Given the particular employment of the MC he may have done something bad to each of them. But that alone wouldn't explain why they are so normal

For now my favorite is Yumiko, despite they didn't do a great job animating her face

She seems to be a bit ahead among the girls, but since I don't know anything about the story and since this will be not your typical anime I may be in the wrong. Surely I agree that she seems to be the least mysterious of the bunch.
I'm looking forward to the next episode, but I'm already sold.

While I don't care too much about fan service, the repeatedly appearance of the pantsu made this show and the only main guy less serious, the last part was excellent though.

Guess she's been doing eroges? I haven't really played an eroge in a while though. As for the anime, mm... Well, aside from the whole eroge way of talking where conversations are more convoluted than needed, it was okay I guess. BETA are shining their lasers in the fanservice scenes, which is a big minus since this is an eroge. I guess the whole "Everyone is insane and messed up" is an okay concept. Yeah, surprising, but this kind of "messed up" isn't that attractive. Kirameki, now that was an awesome messed-up. Don't ask me what the difference is. Perhaps it could become more attractive later, but as of now, I'm more like With my chin laying on my hand and head tilted, I say "Uh-huh... -Bomber -Drugs/medicine to maintain mental state -A girl who doesn't care about people seeing her naked = ... (same with protagonist?) (Knew the relative of the protagonist, who were both in an accident when the relative died?) -Retarded? -Murderer? And probably some other messed up stuff. Incest, Terrorist, Necrophilia, etc Meh, too many anime today to watch. I'll think about watching it. As someone who has read the visual novel (only the first one mind you) this did a wonderful job. Granted it did have to cut some scenes here and there but surprisingly it was mostly just shorting things. Which makes sense given that visual novels can go into much more extreme detail of everything, describing and inner-monolog everything whilst anime does not have that luxury. Though I did guess right and for the most part (minus the ending) did the prologue (aka before the opening in the vn). They got the tone right and Yuuji is oh so good (and some juicy moments too ). Takahiro Sakurai is brilliant as Yuuji he fits him having that calm and cold tone whilst making ridiculous comments (masturbation ); completely deadpan humor. Its going to be glorious seeing Yuuji's face in the comedic moments. Yes they cut back a lot of the inner monologue from Yuuji but they did retain the important ones (including masturbating). Everyone else was the same (oddly enough including the police officers I reckon) only going to mention Kaori Mizuhashi as Michiru because she is awesome and yes she has done eroge beforehand such as Muv Luv before this visual novel. Animation was fantastic and thank god they got Akio Watanabe as the animation director becuase he as always did a fantastic job. It look's great and Michiru has so many faces (including a square funnily enough) that people will be in gif heaven with this (and that includes all girls). Directing was also very good and very cinematic (in a good way). Really excited to see where Tenshou would go directing wise especially for the more darker elements. Ah yes Yuuji cannot be censored but given Amane's body is too damn good for television they have to blind us from the beauty . Ah well I expected and given no matter what channel your on time is always essential. So for example Yosuga no Sora (uncensored and sex scenes) was at 11:30pm whilst this was at 8:30pm on the same channel. Ah well shoudn't happen too much though so hey they gotta their money somewhere and Amane is a alright reason. Also there was so many panty shots that I'm just hoping their not going to do this throughout the entire run. Although I will say Yuuji's reactions is priceless. The ending I was puzzled but made sense given this unlike the visual novel has to let the audience know that something isn't right with everyone. I was fine with it and made me excited to see if they can actually pull off what I think they will be doing but Sachi was more confusing. Now granted since you have to show off that everyone isn't right and given Sachi's character it be difficult to show that. I'm just wandering whether they are going to explain that or just leave it be (hopefully the former). I know some people are having misconceptions especially with Sachi so hopefully that clears up. Another note that I like mention and this just might me being stupid was the fact that seeing the rooms in different angles made them so different when in actually fact there faithful (expect maybe adding another plant in the lobby). And the thing that caught me and I never noticed this before reading the visual novel is the fact the entrance to the lobby/ dorm was that door you always see. I always assume it was the door behind us (picture wise if that makes sense) but no it was always the door you saw unlike the bedroom. Another thing is that for the bedroom I always assume it was the door you saw but nope there was another door. Ah well I'll just make my version an alternate universe where in which there were two doors in the lobby and people always goes to the back one and there's only one door in Yuuji's bedroom. I'm praying that this will continue to be good because if they keep up like this then were in for a good ride. Just please be two cour and please for the love of Sachi don't stuff the entire trilogy in this season. If they are going to do it, do it next season. Either this will be fantastic adaption or a huge train wreck. Well will see. And yes I know some people speculating what's going to happen next episode but I don't think we will get to the routes themselves and instead do the common route first (and the title is very leading in animating one particular scene which is important). And anyone watching this without reading the visual novel, I will say that it does start comedic (don't know how long though) but once it goes dark, it goes dark. Like seriously damn. Also Yuuji is the most badass and best main character yet and is better then Kirito and Tatsuya by a mile. mic drop There I said it and this anime will show you why (hopefully and if not the visual novel will show you why if you care to read it).
