And Kakashi or Shikac ould have awaked him.

so far sakura's only strength has been in resisting genjutsu, right?

great ability since almost nobody we've seen has used genjutsu in a real fight

except sharingan users, like kakashi fighting zabuza and...

itachi! I wonder if sakura's going to be the one to beat itachi because of her ability to resist genjutsu (and therefore the sharingan's hypnotic/illusion attacks) or maybe she and lee will have kids and their enormous pink eyebrows will reflect the attack right back at itachi >D

Sakura's part up to now has been rather sparse compared to her fellow teamate Naruto and Sasuke.

All she's been doing recently is crying over Sasuke's curse and his cold attitude towards her.

Naruto should have realized that her feelings for Sasuke are too deep for him to have any chance. He should start appreciating Hinata since she's always supporting him.

And Sakura should start growing now that Tsunade is here.

Btw, Sakura's rather passive role till now has result in a big hit on her popularity. She was 5th in the first manga popularity poll but only came in 14th in the second year. Don't know about the third year though, but I suspect that she will regain some votes soon enough.
