Episode 19 article is up:
[RIUVA] CLANNAD ~After Story~, Episode 19 Nothing can compare to the epic that was Episode 18. That aside, taken on its own, this episode is a powerful one in its own right. 9/10. |

Lovely episode and it deserves a high note from my part just because of one thing: I for once wasn't completely torn up emotionally when it ended!
For the last couple of episodes I've been on the downward part of the emotional rollercoster... It's still so hard do see images of Nagisa but more so on the previous eps than this one... Finally I can see something good come out of recent events. And Ushio is so "kawaii", even more when Fuuko is hugging her... So cute Spoiler for ushio's sketch:

I really, really enjoyed this episode. It felt so nice that Tomoya is able to repair all of the bonds that he had with his family and he's able to keep them all in tact. Really nice to see Fuuko back and she's still the same way. Just wish could of got a little more dialogue from that scene from her.
There were two very serious moments that nearly made me cry. -Sanae finally having a chance to rest and cry for herself. I mean, the poor thing has been soooooo kind and gentle through this whole thing from losing her daughter to having her raise her grandchild for 5 years while Tomoya was in his slump. She's just been through all of this with a kind smile that it just...gets to you when you see her weep. -Naoyuki and Tomoya's departure was also pretty big just because the image of Naoyuki was turned in a few episodes. Tomoya breaking down reminds any of us of parental issues. So I was just dumbfounded watching that whole scene. And by now, I really love Satomi Kōrogi voicing Ushio. It's just so perfect...^_^ The one thing I'm stuck on however, is Tomoya's injury. That was the whole basis for Tomoya's hatred for his father, so isn't it strange we never got to see it actually happen? Or what time in his life it did happen? I'm guessing that he was a great father until later into Tomoya's childhood where he start to become even more depressed, where he attack Tomoya in an arguement, thus giving the injury. Am I right on this? I don't want to kill the dramatic moment, I just thought that was supposed to be a big thing. |

i teared up about couple cc in season 1 for 1 or 2 eps. In S2, i teared up about a liter (may be more), the end of this ep is quite emotion too but not as much as ep 18 or 16.
I shed way more tears in AS than any other animes combine |

This episode rounded off last weeks episode nicely.

The reunion between father and son was touching. I loved the role reversal they had, all the while with Ushio looking on and taking it all in. I think Nagisa would have been happy with the outcome. |

As everyone else has already said, this was a nice reprieve from the emotional rollercoasters of the previous episodes, while still having a little bit of emotion at the end. I was all smiley at the end. I also feel dumb for not realizing who the teacher was until I looked at this thread....
So, I wonder why Tomoya had those bags under his eyes. They seem to disappear as well in the preview. |

I think that he has got this bags because of previous sadness after loosing Nagisa. It is natural.
I am really glad that he is doing well with his father now, glad that he realized all that stuff. YAY! Fuu-chan is back, it is a funny feeling when she is in the same age as Tomoya but after awaking she has got a personality of first year studend. Great to have you back Fuu-chan <bakes a starfish cake> I've really fell in love with Ushio. She is so adorable that I would like to jump into the monitor and give her an uber hug. |
