Should read the Snakes on a Plane book. They specifically say one of the character has "Hair as blond as a Super Saiyan" or something along those lines. Not sure how much involvement he had in the book, but it was something I remember seeing.

A lot of surprises there. I hope Efron get's booted from FMP. He does not fit the role of Sasuke, at all. Also Megan Fox is a surprise too. But she used art as a crutch so she get's minus points for that.
I'm glad he likes Black Lagoon 'cause he'd make an awesome Dutch in a Hollywood adaptation. (And Angelina Jolie would be Balalaika.)

I remember there being a segment on Late Night with Conan O'Brien at Manga Entertainment Studios. While it game anime more attention, they didn't exactly paint it in the best of colors. Plus, the staff member they interviewed did not help in the least. They showed a clip of Ghost in the Shell and he explained it so poorly... Ghost in the Shell is CSI with robots to the regular person, he should have said something along those lines.

Aparently Marty Friedman, formerly of Megadeth fame is a fan of Angel Beats, or perhaps just j-pop
Marty Friedman, a former guitarist for the Megadeth heavy metal rock band, will release his Tokyo Jukebox 2 J-pop cover album, featuring covers of AKB48's song "Aitakatta" and the song "Little Braver" by the Angel Beats! anime's fictional Girls Dead Monster band. Friedman's official website is currently streaming samples for each track from the album on YouTube. The album will be released on September 14 for 3,150 yen (about US$41). The album also includes cover songs for Aya Matsuura and the band Arashi. Friedman's previous Tokyo Jukebox album, released in 2009, included songs from Perfume, Maximum The Hormone, Mika Nakashima, and SMAP. Friedman made a cameo with his frequent drumming collaborator Jeremy Colson and Kiss lead singer Gene Simmons in the live-action film adaptation of Kiminori Wakasugi's Detroit Metal City comedy manga. Friedman also produced and performed some guitar work on a song for a music video for NHK's Paphooo Festival 2009 in collaboration with Gurren Lagann theme singer Shoko Nakagawa (Shokotan) and web animator Rareko.

Keanu Reeves like Cowboy Bebop and I heard he’ll be Spike if the live-action is really getting made. BTW, how’s the development of that?
Other celebs: Leo Dicaprio adore Spirited Away, James Cameron love Battle Angel, and Zac Efron is into Bleach . I also heard that Lady Gaga is also an anime-fan. Guess what she likes: Spoiler for ...:

Cowboy Bebop actually has the potential to be good, if they don't mess it up.
Will they mess it up? I'm not optimistic... Eva, however would have to be reworked a fair amount to appeal to a western audience. |

Anyway, Neill Blomkamp is a fan of anime. He talked about 'Akira' in an interview in September of 2009 and then in the 'District 9' director's commentary, he specifically mentions 'Macross' and gives a shout out to Ichiro Itano. Also, anyone else find it kinda funny how Keanu Reeves is an anagram for 'Eureka Seven'? |
