So you can compare in popularity against the typical magical, busty girl, school themed, or main character that can achieve anything just putting all their effort even if the character is poor and stupid (Gurren Lagann). So if you are into Akagi-Kaiji-style anime then this anime is for you. |

Or if you like baseball anime/manga, then it's for you as well. I love Adachi's stuff and Major... this is right up my alley. Unlike the other two I mentioned though, it's just pure baseball duels, which really isn't a bad thing at all. XD
Anyone know how long the run is going to be? I'm just curious if it will actually cover the entire manga series or not, though chances are it will not. |

Just like with Akagi and Kaiji, this was way more about the mindgame than about the actual sport at hand. The thing with the rising and falling fastballs is true though, and many real life baseball pitchers have used it. It's just all that more frightening when someone who apparently has a perfect perception such as Toua can do with it. Maybe in the future, he'll throw a curveball or something like that and make himself even more godly.

Why this anime isn't that popular for the mass
1.There is no boobs or fanservice
2.There is no action 3.people have actually think to enjoy this, this on intellectual level. I am a stock trader and fucking with the mind is the art in trading.Only 0.001% of humanity has Taou Trait. They do exist but people(sheeple) don't see them that often.Born leader type.I have seen 1 in my life. This anime is as real as life gets.No fantasy. The top top top guys of this world has the exact traits as Taou. |

Whoa....that's taking it a bit far lol But it's definately a good anime which makes you think a lot about what's happening.
I don't think the big Mariners batter (Brooklyn) who breaks a bat every round on his knee is quite possible in real life ...at least not possible without any negative effects. |

Episode 7:
OK, I suppose you have to have knowledge of the way games are played to have seen Toua's approach to game 3, but if that's indeed how things are supposed to go, then that's a rather clever ruse. I'd have loved to see how he would have gotten himself out of that bind if it weren't for that bit of luck, but in any event, there are circumstances on his side that would allow him to escape by the skin of his teeth. Excellent strategy that he pretty much pulled out of his pants there.

Episode 8:
Good lord... just watching the stakes getting piled on higher and higher just pushes this series higher and higher into epic land. I'll admit the whole psychological warfare has limits to corniness and ordinarily, when faced with something on this scale of ridiculousness, I'd have called it out on the stuff it pulls, but I just can't because of how much I'm thoroughly enjoying this. There's something about Toua's mocking laughter that's just totally infectious as you watch him pull trick after trick after trick just to set things his way. This is entertainment, pure and simple and as long as they can keep me amused, there's no way I'm going to stop watching this. And seeing how the Team Owner looks to be breaking a few blood vessels from the preview, I'm really curious to see how things will go down. Regardless, I just can't help enjoying this.
