In the Wn while Flora was still disappeared Cristina asked Hiroaki if he could make as if his engagement with Flora hasn't existed in preparation for the worst case, and he agreed easily and without any resistance to break the engagement, Flora herself just knew this when she was back in Rodania, currently just after Rio delivered Flora to Cristina, there was a conversation with just Rio and Cristina, at that time Cristina told Rio about the engagement annullment.

There is a posibility that after giving up in finding Flora and Cristina Hugenot may try to convince Hiroaki of forgetting about them, the engagement hasn't been officialy announced to the public in the LN yet after all, and when they're back, problably would try to make as if that conversation with Hiroaki hasn't occurred, but Hiroaki will just blabber it out first thing and then Flora or Cristina or both would just take that chance to have the engagement annulled, the most likely Cristina since she didn't want Flora to be engaged with Hiroaki and Flora would just obey her, but if the author wants to surprise us with a scene of Flora saying to him that after travelling with Rio and by comparing she completely understood how big of a loser he is and then she says him she doesn't want to be with him anymore is more that welcomed.

Cristina and Flora went together to visit king François to explain him about the army that appeared near the border, and apologise for the troubles it caused to his country, because gathering your army near a national border can be considered an act of agression, and now they're drinking the tea with just the two and Vanessa as their guardian in their room in the magic boat in their way back to Rodania.

They talk about several things, they're happy because they can at least go back to Rodania and put an end to the whole Charles mess, they talk about make a holiday the next day and about inviting Hiroaki and Roana too, because since he lost against Rio he went back almost completely to being a neet that doesn't leave his room, only letting Roana in and when he goes out he talks almost only to Roana.

Arain, Lucci and Ven enter the room to kidnap them by Lucious' orders, first they defeat Vanessa, but just after that they received Cristina's magic, they endured it thanks to their demon swords and play dead until Lucci sees a chance of putting the magic sealing collar on Cristina's neck and captures her, then Cristina ask them why are they kidnapping them and Lucci answers that their boss wants them pull a certain person's feet for him, Cristina tells them what a bad taste and after that they teleport Cristina and Flora to forest in Paladia Kingdom with a magic tool, then they escape with another magic tool to not be noticed by Reis and finally Hiroaki that heard the noise enters the room running but there is only Vanessa unconcious on the ground with a knife in the stomac.

flora is already in love with Rio, or at least that's what i think, it's hard to said for sure,cause flora has a very timid personality, On the other hand, Cristina feels guilty for the bad years of Rio in the academy, I'm sure she Will eventually fall in love too, but she will hide it and deny it, I doubt she will ever try to approach Rio.

In volume 1 Flora was already completely in love with Rio. She was always sad every time she saw someone bully him and every time she saw he was always alone, she has wanted to be her friend and being able of talking to him because she admired the strenght he always showed never trying to hurt back the people that hurted him, just keeping advancing forward, once she saw Celia talking with Rio from the distance and she was jealous of how close to each other they look, and after that

Spoiler for Flora:

Volume 7 the night of the day after meeting Rio again, Flora is lying alone in her bed thinking about several things, before that same day, Rio was invited to have lunch in Lizelotte's house to apologise for Alphonse and Stead attacking him the previous evening when he was having dinner with Celia and Aisia, during that meal Flora keep trying to approach and talking to Rio rather proactively, Hiroaki didn't like this and later pointed it out to her, now in the bed she wonders if she really looked that strange today and begins to worry about having given that impression to Rio too.

Then she remembers the battle of Rio against the demons yesterday, and in her head the image of Rio fighting against the minotaurs yesterday overlaps with Rio saving her from a minotaur four years ago, ans she begins to wonder if Haruto=Rio, she starts to think that if he really is Rio he must hate her and that a situation where he forgives her and the kingdom is too convenient to simply happen and then she cries there alone.

Beginnig of volume 8 after she discovers that Rio=Haruto because of Lucious she tries to confirm it desperately, when he tries to play dumb she makes the face of a lost puppy, when he finally admits it she apologises to him again and again while crying, then Rio says her that if she is sorry for something then please forget about the human being called Rio, when she hears this and interprets that he doesn't want to know anything about her she cries even more than before.

Later when Rio carries her back to Lizelote's mansion in pricess carry the moment Rio is about to put her in the ground she clings to him and lies about being sick for being able of staying in his embrace a little longer.

Volume 9 a little before the beginning of the first day of the evening party Hiroaki goes to the waiting room where Lizelotte is waiting with her family until they are called into the party hall and every time she sees Rio talking to Miharu, Lizelotte and Satsuki or when he said them they were beautiful in their dresses she was jealous of them.

The second and the third day too, everytime she saw Rio talking with someone from Beltram kingdom, specially another former classmates, she always looked at them because she was worried about them discovering Rio, even more than Rio himself, and she was very envious too when seeing him dancing with other girls.

And Cristina made her feelings for Rio clear enough in the prologue of volume 12

She talks about how arrogant she was when child, how she believed herself more special than anyone, and how Rio broke that pride of hers, she talks about how she admired him because she doesn't think she would be able of doing the same as him being her in his shoes, all alone and abused by everyone in the academy, and how she was always impressed with his maltial arts always that she saw them, how she fell pained when seeing someone bullying him, because of her feelings for him and because it reminded her how arrogant and idiot she used to be too, how much she regreted what happened the first time they met, how painful and embarrasing it was to not able to talk him and apoligise to him due to the difference in position between the two, how the day of the practice field because she was no longer able of seeing Rio that was the worst day of her life for her and since then is as if her heart is death(For what other reason that loving him would she feel this way for not being able of seeing Rio again?) and how due to this she decided to change her kingdom to not let things like what happened to Rio occur again.

There are still forty five days remaining until the book's sale begins, so don't expect much yet, a part of the special edition cover appearing already yesterday is unusually fast, usually it isn't until there are just three or four weeks remaining until the sale's beginning that they release things, first a part of the cover, a week after that the whole clean cover, some days after that the final cover, a little less than two or one weeks before the release of the book they filter the color ilustrations, and the week before the release in the editorial's homepage there is already the synopsis, with the first twenty-thirty pages of the book to make you want to preorder. Until now Hj bunko has been following these steps and times.
The only other thing related to Seirei Gensouki they sold lately is a tapestry of Celia in a coctel dress for their 50th anniversary.

And not only that, he defeats them in front of Cristina? Could you tell me the reaction of Cristina please?

Haven't read it myself, but I can tell you about a summary I read here before: If you read the WN, this is when Rio helps Cristina escape from her own Kingdom due to Celia's request.
In the LN Rio is accompanied by the Seirei girls and the Kingdom side has the asshole Charles, Sword King Alfred AND the Bow Hero Rui.
Charles also brought pretty much the army and not just some knight squad+Alfred like in the WN.

idk why but Rio incapacitates Rui while Elf girl tries to retain Alfred (they are separated by the army)
Alfred knocks her out, Charles puts a slave chocker on her and hits Celia when she tries to get in the way.
To this Rio uses powerful Wind Magic and ruins the army to get to Charles.

If you look just at the facts it can be said than an army was repelled by Rio alone, but it was different from fighting he himself againts the 5.000 soldiers.

The things you all are talking about happen in the last two chapters of volume 12, here a lot people said a lot mistaken things about this time, so here it comes the truth:

Spoiler for Volume 12:

If we make an equivalence with the WN this volume is the same that chapter 122 until 133, and the time everyone is so confused about comprehends from chapter 129 until 133.

First of all, as some of you said before, this volume is when Rio escorts Cristina's group until Rodania from Celia's house, but there are some differences with Wn:

1st Just at the end of volume 11 Cristina discovered Rio=Haruto, so in Ln she is fully concious of it, in the Wn she just suspects that maybe Rio=Haruto due to the similitudes between them, but there she is more or less scared of trying to know the truth.

2nd Instead of Aisia, this time Sara, Ouphia and Alma accompanny Rio and Aisia just takes charge of scorting Miharu and Latifa while following the group from the distance and using Ouphia's timespace cache to move the rock house.

Then thap group of nine people begins its travel to Rodania while Reis is preparing a plan to make Charles capture Cristina.

The same as in the Wn when Rio's group leaves the last city before the national border they're ambushed by Arain, Lucci and Ven + a lot of hired adventurers and this time Reis is present too, Reis is fully concious that they can't win against Rio's group, so his plan is to separate Rio and as much of his friends as possible from Cristina's group and entertain them until Charles captures Cristina.

First Reis, Alain, Rucci and Ven surround Rio's group pretending to want to take Cristina from them themselves, Reis calls forth the hired adventurers, Rio begins to knock out adventurers with his wind spirit arts while receiving at the same time attacks from Reis, Alain, Lucci and Ven trying to create a way out in their encirclement for Cristina's group to scape being the only one staying behind, and the adventurers while pretending to pursue let Cristina's group go and finally Sara and Alma stay behind too to help Rio and the battle changes to Rio vs Reis and Alma and Sara againts everyone else while Ouphia is still with Cristina's group.

The action changes to Cristina's group scaping from the place, Ouphia's spirit warns her about the army of 5.000 soldiers waiting ahead of them blocking the way to the border, Charles at the beginning had no clue that they were going to the Galarc kingdom but Reis told him Rio's plan and then told him that he has another plan to capture them, that great idiot readily put the army in front of the border to block Cristina's way despite this being something that may cause a war while thinking that all is his brilliant idea, after seeing the army Ouphia stops the group and tries to go back to Rio, but then they're surrounded by a griffon squad and Charles with Alfred and Rui comes with a group of another twenty Knights, in that situation Ouphia sends her spirit to call Rio while she earns as much time as possible, she and Vannessa are defeated by Alfred and then Charles puts her a magic sealling collar, Celia tries to stop it with magic but Alfred blocks the magic and Charles then gives her a punch in the face and she faints, in that moment they spotted Rio in the distance rushing to help them.

The action changes to Sara and Alma, first they fight 2 vs 3 With Alain, Rucci and Ven, the three decide they can't defeat them if they don't make it a 3 vs 1, so they order the adventurers to hold back Alma while they defeat Sara, but Sara uses water spirit arts to put a water bubble around their heads and defeats the mercenary trio, at the same time Alma defeats the adventurers with earth spirit arts and then the action changes to Rio vs Reis.

This fight was pretty much the same than their fight at the end of arc 4 in the Wn, both Rio and Reis are flying, with Reis trying to keep Rio away with light bullets, Rio charges against him while covered with a wind barrier and makes him crash againts the forest giving him a kick in the stomac, then Reis attacks Rio making his right arm a sword of magic power, they cross in the air and Rio cuts that right arm, he was just about to finish Reis when Sara and Alma told him about Ouphia's situation and they run to help her, then Reis thinks there alone that they already earnt time but he doesn't know what will happen now, maybe they've awoken the sleeping dragon.

Last chapter, Senjo no shihaisha (The ruler of the battlefield)

Rio is running to help Celia and Ouphia, he is one kilometer away from Cristina's group and he sees the knights on the groud forming a wall of shields in front of Charles while the Aerial squad prepares to attack with magic, but Rio doesn't dodge, he accelerates himself with wind spirit arts and runs past the landing spot of the magic attacks then he sees Ouphia and Celia fainted from the distance and then his most epic rage until the date begins.

He accelerates even more with wind arts and reaches the knights on the ground, he grabs the shield of one of them and he throws him away, everyone there feeling Rio's anger and bloodthrist freeze on the spot, both allies and enemies, first he ask if Celia and Ouphia are alive, Cristina says to him they're just unconcious, then he ask who did it, Charles completely terrified says hurriedly that it was Alfred to scape from Rio's anger, Rio tells him but you gave the order didn't you.

Alfred, the only one in the spot that understood that they angered the wrong guy tells Charles to run away while he entertains Rio and attacks him, Rio swings the sword horizontally and sends Alfred flying back, then he creates a tornado around the sword and he defeats with it all the knights on the ground and on the air riding grifons, he attacks Alfred again and Alfred is only able to defend himself from Rio by putting all his strencht into it, but even like that Rio is just about to defeat him when Rui shoots from the side and he has to separate from Alfred to dodge.

Rio talks a little with Rui, Rui tells Rio that what he told him in volume 10 before leaving the evening party about wanting to meet again as friends was serious and if possible he doesn't want to kill him, Rio tells him that he doesn't want to kill him either and the 2 vs 1 begins.

Rio begins to change attacks with Alfred again while running around with the wind spirit arts to dodge Rui's arrows, he sends Alfred high in the air with wind spirit arts and jumps up to higher than him, Alfred puts all his remaining magic power in a last great attack, Rio creates a tornado around the sword and counterattacks, after winning that exchange Rio sleeps Alfred with spirit arts and grabs his body to not let him die in the fall and to use him as a shield againts Rui's arrows, then he faints Rui now alone with a punch in the solar plexus, he then tells to Sara and Alma that have just catched up to him to watch over that place while he captures Charles that was trying to run away.

Charles is running showing his back to Rio that is following after him at walking pace while thinking, how did it end like this, it wasn't supposed to end like this, just who in the world is that monster, he orders the 5.000 soldiers to make a way for him to scape and to protect him from Rio, and the soldiers open a corridor, but they don't try to stop Rio, they don't close the corridor they opened to Charles and just let Rio pass and capture him, they just watch how Rio reaches Charles, he grabs him by the neck and walks back to Cristina while dragging Charles whit him by the neck, not even one soldier dared to attack Rio yet, it was unanimous, after seeing the battle and feeling Rio's anger, bloodthrist and dominant aura all of them understood that they couldn't win and that they would just be killed instantly if they attack Rio.

Epilogue, Cristina's reaction:
Cristina is watching Rio go after Charles and bringing him back dragging him by the neck while thinking how stupid she was for having ever thought she was special, Rio was always the only one that was really special, the only one that ever had what was necessary to stand above others, he is so special and so dazzling that is even painfull to look at him, she thinks that if Rio was the royalty and not her then the country would have never been in its actual situation, and if he was to reach a helping hand to her it would the most wonderfull thing for her, but it's too late, she and their country don't deserve that, she can't by any means think ever again about taking that hand and must always stay away from the competition for gaining him, that is their punisment for their sin.

Not in volume, it's special SS after volume 6 released.

In Rio's dream, he find himself on the bed with Miharu, Aisia, Seria, Latifa, Sarah, Sara, Oufia, Alma, Komomo, Sayo and more.."hint hint".

Based on what read. In the WN the MC's strength (while hiding his full power) is slightly weaker than Alfred. Additionally, as a swordsman, he isn't suited to handle an army.

It is stated many times an elite warrior is considered equal to a thousand men. That is why defeating 5000 soldiers by himself is absurd.
