Just re read souma right now, and when I read the bear meat competition about Bursting and bestowing, I actually realized that Erina is direct line to Nakiris, so Erina is supposed to be capable of all of Nakiri's stripping skill as well ???

Soba theme is actually a big trap for Nene to do something predictable due to her family pride and background

If Nene can't beat Soma with her best dishes, there is no way she can beat him in anything else. Soma would have crushed her more faster and easy.

It is the darkest right under the lamp post they say. Nene losing was a culimation of many different factors, and the theme Soba worked against her. She is the type that done everything she was taught perfectly, as we see from her flashback. in pure skill, Nene > Soma, but if you take a careful look, she never taste her soba, as she believe it is the same as always. It is a matter of confident in her skill but neglect any other elements besides it. to Nene view, same ingredients, same dishes, same cooking will produce the same results. If this was another dishes however, she will become a lot more careful. Of course, she might lose as well and chance are she will as Soba is her best bet, but don't think that it will mean that Soma will be able to crushed her easily.

I'd rather leave this discussion aside, since we never actually seen her making any other dishes beside this one so we don't have any marker to gauge her ability directly

in Hunter X Hunter, after Hanzo lost the cooking contest he protested to machi that Sushi is just a strip of raw fish placed on a handful of cooked rice served with bith of mirin and soysauce and even crappy beginner can make them. Angering Machi who makes big deals of it because she is gourmet hunter and Hanzo was just beginner who coincidently is a native who know about said dish.

This is called underestimation. just because you know it better, familiar and already know one or two about them and having all every advantage compared to everyone doesn't make it okay for you to neglect...

forget it. soba and sushi was quite crappy for me anyway. whatever any defense i have would sound insincere.

From those, I prefer ramen the most, followed by soba and then udon. But it more on what I favour when it comes to wheat based noodles.

I like rice and egg noodles more.

depend on situation really - Soba is a rather obvious choice in summer, but in general, I'd say Ramen, and then Soba
