I guess this is the best thread to post this in... DVD 1 came out last week and ended up ranking #4 for that week. I'll say these sales figures bode well for a sequel

Ookami to Koushinryou (IMAGIN)
2008/04/02 *8,548 Vol. 1 Limited Edition (Three episodes)

Sales should stay strong too, especially for the volume with the dvd only episode. If it keeps up around the 8k mark it will sell on avg more than ZnT and Higaurashi which both got 2 sequels each. Probably the biggest selling title for IMAGIN.. though maybe they sold more with a hentai title as HIMAGIN...

Those are indeed very positive-looking DVD sales that, by most historical measures, virtually guarantee a sequel if it keeps up. So good news for all.

I received my own copy of the DVD this past week, and (as we knew from the solicitation) it contains a number of nice extras, including a puzzle, an illustration card, and an 8-page full-color booklet. Confusingly, it also comes with two different mail-in offers, and there will be three different offers over the course of the DVD release.

Offer 1: Collect DVDs 1-3, and you could win 1 of 250 DVD Boxes (to house the series)
Offer 2: Collect DVDs 1 & 2, and you could win 1 of 250 tickets to a live event featuring members of the cast
Offer 3: Collect DVDs 4-6, and you could win 1 of 250 Original Bumper Stickers

I'm going to try for the DVD Box myself, but with sales being as high as they are, I have to imagine that my chances of winning are pretty darn small. Plus, it'll cost me like $50 for the attempt... *crosses fingers, toes, etc...*

Nope, no English DVDs. It hasn't even been licensed yet.

But... you'll find out when/if it does get licensed pretty quickly by following threads here.

I hope it never gets licensed, personally.

With the way the licensing companies have been acting lately, I'm beginning to understand that viewpoint.

I can't say I'm enamored with the R1 companies myself at the moment.

DVD Volume 2 arrived.
The first press privilege is a jigsaw puzzle this time also.
I wish another goods next time.
In addition, I want it to be released by Blu-ray.

DVD Volume 3 is released on May 30.
The title of episode 7 is "狼と幸福の尻尾 (Wolf and a happy tail)".
Since it is the title which was not in a light novel, it may be an original story.

Sounds like a cheerful episode .

Have no doubt our good sub groups will be right on the episode when it's available.

More S&W to watch is always a good thing.

Still hoping there will eventually be a second season though...

Well, there's always material for season 2, it's just a matter of whether or not it's popular enough to be worth it. Here's hoping, although it's comforting to know that even if there isn't, we still have people willing to translate the novels. Huzzah!

These figures indicate that it's popular enough for a sequel.

Ookami to Koushinryou *7,726 (2+) (IMAGIN)
2008/04/02 *8,548 Vol. 1 Limited Edition (Three episodes)
2008/04/25 *6,904 Vol. 2 Limited Edition (Two episodes up to Vol. 7)

Yeah, and the fact that the script is written for them already (and is way ahead, to boot) and that season 1 wasn't an ending by anyones' standards, give it a good, I'll say, 85% chance. Seems a good, vague number.
