Now, They are re-airing original 24 episodes on MX, BS11 and delivering on Nico Nico for promotion of Zero but it seems that they will delivers two version of episode 23 (SG route and β route of Zero) simultaneously
on Nico Nico in December 2nd. In other words, probably the first previous episode of Zero is there already. I don't know there is a divergence final episode but I hope this is a sign that anime will come earlier than we are thinking.

After all, episode 23 of 'rebroadcast' was β world line's story.
I'm surprised that also Tokyo MX's 'rebroadcast' was not rebroadcast in fact but it was brandnew β world line episode of Zero game.
Unfortunately only few people knew this because this was a sneak attack.
But it was super effective promotion for Zero game.

Love the promotion they're doing for S;G 0. It only got me more excited. That Ep 23 β 2nd half was awesome.

Mayushi in ep 23 (beta) was much more natural than in ep 23 (SG)... that was one of the thing that always made me seem off about Mayushi egging Okarin on (since they also didn't include the drama CD part).

So latest news on when that is supposed to be available? Thought the 23B was well done, and curious to see how far they can go on 24 without giving the whole game away...

If they're making this a full blown anime, it would need some artistic license because unlike the original S;G where it's basically one huge route with various cop-out ending, this one is made up of several very different world lines (2 big ones that I can tell, the rest are variations of them) with story hints scattered all over the place.

But I welcome the idea of Mahotan being animated!

Okay, so as far as I understand, this new game will be about future Okabe, it won't be a direct sequel? And after watching 23 β, I assume that there will be new anime?

S;G 0 is about the continuation of the beta AF, where Mayushi doesn't encourage Okabe after his first failure. This causes him to not go back in time the 2nd time, and does not reach the steins gate line like the original.

Time flies forward to December, where Okabe has given up his chuni ways, but still tormented by not being able to save Kurisu. One day he met Kurisu's professor and assistant at a seminar, and learned about the Amadeus system - an AI system that uses human memories as a base. Okabe's life is changed when he discovers that one of the memories stored in the Amadeus system was Kurisu's...

Zero is promoted as the sequel to S;G, but I personally feel that it's more like a fandisk or expansion. A new anime has been announced, but no dates yet.

I like the idea of AI with Kurisu's memories, but... I always thought that Steins;Gate is a complete story. With beautiful ending. All this Zero thing seems to be interesting, but I agree with you- it's more like fandisk, which reminds me about Kagetsu Tohya.

The "sequel" to S;G is the movie. That's the true ending point narrative wise (so far anyway). There already were two fandisks of S;G: Darling and Phenogram, but Zero is definitely more 'canon'.

S;G movie was never promoted as the sequel - but as a continuation of the original. The "legitimate sequel" to S;G is S;G 0, which is stated over and over on their website. Again, it's the wording they chose to use for each of the work, but I suspect it's because of the length of the story for the movie that doesn't warrant it to be labeled as "sequel".

Personally, the original S;G ended in such a beautiful way, that I had a high expectation when something is promoted as a "sequel". I have no problem if S;G 0 was a fandisk - it's actually quite interesting and filled many gaps in the original. The problem is, is how the story is structured, and how things turns out - it's like calling Darling a sequel.

I enjoyed reading Darling, it was a fun read. I also enjoyed S;G 0, very interesting stuff. Can it be considered as a sequel? Well, just because the events takes places after the original, doesn't necessarily make it a sequel.

Some VN Questions

Now, I'm up to the start of chapter 9 in the VN and I have a few questions but If the answers involve spoilers that are answered in the this chapter or the next, feel free to just say "Wait and see"

Spoiler for plot points:

Edit: Oh, this is for the original VN by the way. I think there is a second one so I just thought I should be clear.

Zero is now confirmed to have a western release (actual date unconfirmed, but it is due this year), but for those of us that have a PS3 we won't be getting it as it's PS4 and vita only.

I saw a full LP of steins;gate 0. I was really impressed. I thought it solidly built on the original in a way that I haven’t seen other inquels manage to replicate. Excited for that 23 episode anime now...
