The purpose of this thread is to provide a place to discuss all things Lelei La Lalena related.

Note: Please don't use this for the specifics (i.e. episode, chapter, game, etc. discussion) there are other threads for that stuff.

I really like her character. I get a feeling that she might, alongside Itami, be the bridge (or Gate) connecting those 2 worlds.

Lelei might the key figure to make people from Earth sympathize with her people (or to understand them better). Itami will be the key figure to gain the trust of the people from the new world.

I totally don't see them as a couple though! I just see them as pivotal characters to link both worlds.

I think she is too normal.
And she has the most common sense among one of the trio.

Haven't seen any signs of that in the manga so far. I wouldn't believe everything you hear.

Nothing in the associated materials has even remotely hinted at that possibility too.

I dunno. In one of the ride scenes in the Humvee, he did mention liking magical girls (although he did also mention cat girls as well, so it may be a same-difference thing in the script.)

I think she's probably the coolest character of the bunch. Rational, calm, polite, but not afraid to dish some pain if someone starts disrespecting her. Reminds me quite a bit of early Tabitha from Zero no Tsukaima. Always had a thing for kuudere characters so maybe it's a bias. Definitely a keep-people-in-check character, which is very useful to counter over-the-top characters like Rory. Definitely looking forward to how the producers flesh out her character! That nomadic background is also really cool.

Amongst the introduced characters so far, she's the one I have the highest expectations (no, I'm not expecting her to be more powerful than tanks or whatever --- I mean she will accomplish alongside Itami).

Nah, that was named by fans. We just call it that because that's exactly what it looks like. Of course the author undoubtedly designed it that way on purpose.

Lelei is moe in a traditional sense. She's adorable enough that she makes people instinctively want to hug and protect her, particularly when she shows vulnerability like she did near the end of episode 7 there when she collapsed.

Can someone provide some insight into her character.

I was reading the manga and got a confusing read. She's very quiet and acts somewhat docile, very kuu-. But when she fought the flame dragon she got all wild and almost killed Itami.

I'm so glad they cleared up use of magic on Earth for Lelei specifically. I suppose they technically implied that it could be used when everyone was unable to pick up Rory's halberd in episode 8, but stating it clearly was useful. Totally ready to see some hardcore magic use.
