Star Wars: The Mandalorian

The Boba Fett 'Star Wars' movie isn't happening:

"This week Lucasfilm exec Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to reporter Erick Weber that a
standalone Star Wars movie focusing on bounty hunter Boba Fett is no longer in
development. While the project had never been officially announced, it was known to
be a piece in the parade of "anthology" movies planned in the universe.

As recently as June, there were reports that after Solo: A Star Wars Story
underperformed at the box office, that projects may be "reconfigured." After going
years and even decades between movie releases, an annual Star Wars release felt like
a bit much.

Instead, and perhaps more wisely, we'll soon see a TV series about a Fett-style
character called The Mandalorian, that's in development for Disney's streaming
service. So far The Mandalorian only has a single image and an interesting list of
episode directors attached, but if Disney plans to compete with Netflix then this kind
of story that's both familiar and all-new could pull subscribers in."

I have never understood the obsession with Boba Fett. The whole Mandalorian culture thing grew out of a misunderstanding from what Lucas originally even meant for Fett, too...

The Mandalorian: Exclusive footage revealed at Star
Wars Celebration Chicago:

"No disintegrations. Fans at Star Wars Celebration Chicago got an exclusive look at The
Mandalorian, the first live action Star Wars show, at a Sunday panel. While much of it was
broadcast on the internet, two features were screened only for the audience that made it
to Chicago.

The Mandalorian will be released on the Disney Plus streaming service when the Netflix rival
launches on Nov. 12, and Sunday's panel gave more information about the show since it
was announced. Pedro Pascal (best known for playing Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones)
will play the titular role and wear armor similar to that of classic character Boba Fett.

The panel is still available to watch on the Star Wars YouTube channel, with exclusive
footage blacked out, but we've got a full recap from the ground at Celebration Chicago."

The Mandalorian: Cast, trailer, plot, release date and
more Star Wars details:

""Bounty hunting is a complicated profession ... don't you agree?" Long-awaited live-
action Star Wars series The Mandalorian is coming to the Disney Plus streaming service
on Nov. 12, and the name has deep roots in the franchise's history, with links to the
armor worn by bounty hunter Boba Fett.

We got a trailer at Disney's biannual D23 convention, this weekend. The company whet
our appetites Friday by tweeting a new poster showing the Mandalorian walking away
from his ship, with a binary sunset and some Sandcrawlers in the background, on a
planet that looks a lot like Tatooine.

Pedro Pascal (best known for playing Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones) will take on
the title role: a lone Mandalorian gunfighter operating in the outer reaches of the
galaxy."

So on another website (Reddit), I saw the fanbase going insane for this. I looked at the trailer... and based on when its set, I was about impressed by this as I was by Solo- aka not at all. For those who might not know, this is set post- RotJ. Once again, Lucasfilm and Disney are taking what could be an excellent sci-fi space travel and battle series... and slapping the Star Wars name on it, when it doesn't feel like a Star Wars series. Granted, I'm just grumbling because there's a lack of Jedi and lightsabers so far, and considering what TFA did to the series, I suppose that gives the executives wiggle room for this.

Reviews of the 1st two episodes have been great.
Can't wait for Disney+ be available to the rest of the world.

Saw the first two episodes, yeah this is a great show, I recommend people avoid spoilers for the show and just watch it yourselves.

It’s Confirmed: The Mandalorian Is Returning for a Second
Season Next Fall:

"In the wake of the successful completion of the first season of The Mandalorian, Jon
Favreau, writer and showrunner of the series, tweeted out a simple confirmation: the

First 2 episodes of the second season have been good, still simple and fun which is exactly what the franchise needs

Surprised this doesn't get more buzz around here. Single-handedly keeping the franchise alive after the devastating damage Abrams and Johnson did to it.

In ths ci-fi or general Star Wars circles this show is huge, outside of those groups though no one seems to notice this season quite like the first but some of that was because of the baby yoda craze

Well, there’s a few people I know that refuse to watch anything related to Disney’s Star Wars after a new trilogy. The damage done to franchise is downright insane.

Their loss. Favreau and Filoni are doing it right.

Being exclusive on Disney+ might discourage people from watching it.

My reaction was Blofeld Fett, he needs that white cat to complete the looks though.

I liked that episode, Bill Burr showed he had some acting chops and we get to see just how important Grogu is to Mando and that ending threat good except for the last part, I really think they sold have cut the line and how important he is

I really thought they were going to pull a bait and switch with that last guest appearance. Like that was no way it was going be be that character showing up. And much to my pleasant surprise, it was him.
