Here we have found the token mini-moe character with Chinen Miya. He's short with the face and attitude of a cat, a child prodigy who used to have fun with skateboarding but due to a certain incident he gradually begins to hate it despite his natural talent. Langa is getting better at skateboarding thanks to Reki's genkiness but he's still a rookie stepping on a long road. His match with Chinen on a first glance proves to be intense but ends with his defeat only to give it another try and eventually reach to the top past Chinen. Chinen's skateboarding tricks are amazing and I was surprised to see Reki being a good mechanic.

Adam finally shows up after staying behind the scenes, he has a butterfly theme going for him and he's very flamboyant and proud of his skills, establishing his role as a top skateboarder that will probably end up as an antagonist for Reki and Langa to face up. Although I appreciate Langa's strong character development I still want to see Reki eventually get his own character arc too. Next we will be saying Kaoru and his rival get their own shared character episode.

Actually, Adam has a Matador theme, notice the cape and the ridiculous amount of horns on his skateboard.

Besides the matador clothing he also wearing Zaku shoulder armour.

Anyway I'm really loving this, it's such a fun series.

Spoiler for Episode 4:

Adam reminds me of Hisoka a lot, he's mysterious yet flamboyant and while I did like the episode mainly because it's focused on him and his backstory a bit and that I did enjoy his general tension with the main cast, I'm still not sure what to really think about this right now, I mean I really wanted to something more over the top, almost superpower-y because Okouchi is writing this, but I'm still fine with it right now since it's slowly building its over-the-topness. The voice acting is top notch, I'm loving Tasuku Hatanaka's voice on Reki, he did the act superbly and I'm looking forward to see him evolve as a character. I still had hope that Cherry and Joe will eventually get their own backstories since they're also quite important because they have ties to Shadow.

Yet I spent most of my time laughing at how flamboyant Koyasu sounds.

I do hope the story will stop letting Reki take so many L's. It really starts to annoy me when there's such a difference in power dynamics between two main characters.

While I get that (the scenes of him upgrading Langa's board were great), I think there are ways to have that type of dynamic without it feeling like Reki is just Langa's "not so great" warmup act as well.

Maybe I was imagining things but It really felt like Langa was raising death flags, while an interesting development I don't think this is the type of a show that would kill a character.

My brother pointed out this same thing. He asked me who I thought was creepier, Hisoka or ADAM. I told him Hisoka only because he literally gets off on killing people. Still my fav HXH character though. lol

If Adam met the real Hisoka he'd run home screaming to his mommy in 11 seconds flat. Still, it's most certainly a homage - hard to deny that after this ep.

Really cool race and too bad it had to end abruptly. It's good to see Langa hold his resolve and not get as scared as Reki did. He actually almost took command of ADAM's moves on the curve and pulled a fast one literally over him. Also, ADAM not looking Pikachu shocked, but happy in admiration and discovery is very fitting for a strong willed matador like character.

Despite all that, for me, one of the best moments of the show was when Cherry was demonstrating the 180 turn and ended up too close to Joe. Those two have such a bromance.

Also we get a glimpse of a new female character (I hope this series has more). Next episode is a beach episode and looks like Joe will be teaching some life lessons then!

God yes, if anyone is going to have something to say about this it has to be Miya. Reki just did to Langa the exact thing he said they wouldn't do to Miya.

Not surprised to see Reki going down the Ron Weasley route that the fall out happens right before a tournament is a funny coincidence though.
