Oh wow, I must admit this was a scary read... worse because I was reading this at night. The string part was the scaries of them all, I guess.

One thing that added some skepticism was the typo on http://www.dionaea-house.com/text15.htm where the time was 5:77 PM. But the rest of it was scary enough to offset this.

My guess was that the bakery was the smell thats supposed to lure people, like the smell that leads flies to a venus fly trap. I know I'd go up creepy stairs if it smelled like there were cookies up there...NOT

The part about the family staying in the house who claimed that the walls or ceiling started leaking and it smelled like bile/stomach acid was rather scary too. I would have moved out as soon as I can if something like that happened to my house and I realized what it could be.
