How weak were the majority of Anti-Creed that this guy took them all out? I mean sure Matoi took care of his big attack there....but no one else could kill this guy? He seemed pretty impressive when he first showed up, but it didn't seem that tough to put him down. More of a problem with Claris being worn out from previous fights and needing recovery time.
The show so far feels pretty just ok. Matoi pulling out powers without any idea what she's doing is already a bit old. I don't know, just an alright episode. The flashbacks were alright. Though get the feeling her partner was remarkably naive. Even Matoi isn't dumb enough to casually walk up to this guy and ask him about the weather. The girl was way too caught up in trying to find meaning in having power outside of fighting and saving lives. It's lucky she lasted that long really. Quote:
This guy was easily set up to at least be a recurring threat if not one of the main villains. A serial killer who made his name murdering girls just like the main characters? Yeah, that could be a pretty regular threat if handled well.

Episode 5
Well that was fun. More causal than the usual fighting stuff as we get to see a more softer side of Claris. I'm glad to see Yuma getting her own spiritual beings as well. About time.

Episode 5
So Yuma always had divine beings with her but they were sealed by her grandpa because she was too young when they first manifested. Yuma is pretty annoying which is why her desperation to get a divine being and her crying when she thought they were mad at her didn't make me feel anything. I honestly can't care about any of the girls here. Clarus is cuter than the other girls and that's about it. By the looks of this episode, the focus will be Matoi as she is targeted by the Nights with Fatima and the French woman's people protecting her... which is honestly not that interesting. |

so Yuma is a powerful exorcist since she was still little, thus what her grandfather said is true to their family's bloodline but he sealed the gods probably for her safety & well being due to not yet being able to fully control her powers, unlike Matoi & Claris' gods that are these CGI hulking beings, Yuma's gods are these cute fox & tanuki chibi people.

Episode 6:
Finally, about time Yuma showed her abilities. Although I find her a bit childish and annoying, she does have a heroic heart and genuinely wants to be a hero. Her transformation reminds me of something from Milky Holmes for some reason though. The battle was okay, feels like the monsters in this series are getting stranger and stranger.

Ep 06
It was nice to see Yuma finally able to transform. But that aside, the bgm for her in transformed state really was appropo, I thought. Shortly after being struck by that I suddenly realized how fitting both the higher dimensional beings themselves and the accompanying bgm sequences and even look both before and after transformation are for each of the young ladies - their personalities and everything about them fits into a nice complete "package" that I did not see before. In that sense it was well thought through for me, and in some ways "closes part one" of the series. The mahou shoujo team is assembled, and we have been generally introduced to a large number of the character cast, setting, groups involved in the struggle and so on. For me the big question is "now what are they going to do". The setup was good overall for me and enjoyable, but can they follow up with it? Sometimes stories flop at this point but at other times they build up speed - I wonder how this one will play out?

Yuma-chan makes this show. Literally Just the right amount of energy and childishness to make her character work, and of course, the ability to deliver when it matters. She might pay too much attention to twitter, but she's no Chitose, that's for sure.
Didn't you hear? It's the fanservice episode! Well, maybe there'll be some buildup too, since it is Matoi's parents' special place they're going to. |

Episode 6
Even though I find Yuma highly annoying and unfunny, I have to admit, the everything before the opening sequence and including it was pretty damn funny. I normally skip the OP but I stuck around hoping changes in it after what Yuma said. They changed the name in the OP and Yuma was popping up every time someone else was getting some focus with her two gods also popping up randomly. Funny stuff. The rest of the episode had Yuma unfunniness. Lots of it. A seemingly cute Night showed up and while chasing it, Clarus pissed it off and it grew into some big monster. Yuma's transformation was nice. It didn't exactly look great or anything, but I liked that she has two forms, one with the tanuki and the other with the kitsune. The nice part was when Shingo finds Matoi over there and embraces her instead of scolding her like she was expecting. That was good. Now onto the fanservice episode next week. |

gee, Yuma sort of breaks the 4th wall here with her describing the OP sequence that shows her transformed state since the first episode that the audience think its a bait & switch fake that she may never transformed in show at all, then proceeds to insert herself all over the normal OP including the show's title screen,
Matoi may also breaks the 4th wall as she is speculating the cute tiny Night's transformation into its giant monster form ACCURATELY. |

LOL Yuma... why you gotta Hijack the show? lol
BTW, I just thought of something, remember they said they have no idea how Matoi got the super god unity thing? Then we got the reveal that Yuma is actually a super power exorcist... and she was the one that did the God summon, but since she couldn't receive any more Gods... the God went to the other girl that was near. So in actual, if Yuma wasn't sealed, she would have also obtained that super God. This means Yuma is the actual Main Heroine of this Show and Matoi is the sidekick. And LOL @ Mokyu night, poor little thing was just having fun in the costume until the girls force it to spread and conquer. Here I was hoping they would have make it a pet.... Also... apparently Shingo x Matoi is possible... Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2016-11-09 at 21:46. |
