Hm, I've been following 11eyes for a bit. I'd say it's pretty okay...
I think episode 4 would be one of the best out of all that so far aired. Dark Yukiko was pretty cool, but her fight scene didn't have a whole lot of impact on me, and neither did her teary explanations about what was wrong with her. (Though that was sltill heartwarming) I'm anticipating the next episode. |

Well ... lets just say they changed some things about how this particular red night and encounter with Ira and Kakeru's awakening went ... and by something, i mean pretty much everything, including the end result
Spoiler for Differences to the game for this episode, no future spoilers included:
So ... yea. There are some other small changes, but those were the ones that stood out. While changing story from the original can yield good results as well, i feel the show hasn't really succeeded on that part though - the Black Knights have been quite downgraded indeed, and i am not sure if that makes for a better viewing experience. I don't feel the suspense that was originally there, because the enemies are not nearly as menacing as they were supposed to be. Ah well, will see how they go from here.

- If she's really his sister, she won't be in high school now , or she should look a bit older. (unless she's immortal) - Kakeru knows his sister was died many year ago. He saw it with his own eyes!. With these facts you can't denied that "this" Kukuri isn't his sister! hahahaha |

Said image sums my feelings up nicely i guess, save for the fact i would spare my PC Now that i recall, one more change the introduced to the story, not a big one, not really significant either, which makes me wonder why they bothered changing this.
Spoiler for ep5:
Ah well.

I think most any anime adaptation of 12-13 eps will be difficult, when the source material is a much longer manga or game. I'm honestly not too sure how they should have done it to make it feel more epic.
I understand that having them beat the Knights in one fight, individually, seems kind of anticlimactic, but with 6 Knights (assuming we do not get all 7), unless you're planning to have multiple Knights defeated simultaneously towards the end, it's going to be tough to avoid some of these 1 per episode defeats. Budget would also suffer with much longer fights. I'd rather have shorter ones consistently well-animated, with more budget spent on the later fights. But I can say this not having played the game, so with nothing to compare it to. Overall, though, I think they've done a decent job in pacing the series, and in juggling time spent with character development and time spent in fights/Red Night. I do think you could postponed a victory earlier and maybe beaten a couple Knights together later, to make it feel more difficult, but beyond that, I can't think of too many suggestions that would fit into an episode count of this length... |
