Similar to Toradora!
I just finished Toradora! and i must say, that series absolutely blew me away. Is there anything out there that is as good or as powerful as this series?
I've seen Clannad and Clannad after story, and i loved those as well.

Yeah, Lovely Complex definitely comes across as a Toradora-like choice.
There's actually quite a few shows that do the whole "cute girls and moving scenes" thing that Clannad does, albeit not many from the last year or so. It's a personal favourite style of mine, and I really like EF: A Tale of Memories (it's sequal, EF: A Tale of Melodies is also good but can be a tough watch due to what some of the characters go through), Sola, True Tears, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, and Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu. Clannad's two "predecessors", Kanon and Air, are also generally considered classics of the type although I wasn't big on Air myself.

School Rumble would indeed be a great choice if he's looking for something comedic rather than dramatic.
Toradora's lead girl is similar to the ones in Shakugan no Shana and Zero no Tsukaima but the style of show is very different, so I feel that one is a bit of a toss up. I also liked Shana a lot more than Zero no Tsukaima, especially once the latter got into its second and third seasons.

Anything with Kugi in it.
Zero no Tsukaima, Shakugan no Shana, Hayate No Gotoku, Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka. Keep in mind that Hayate S1 is a whooping 52 episodes long and S2 is 26, so you probably have to start from the beginning.

I tried Lovely Complex, it was hard for me to get into, maybe it was the artwork...
Though I have seen School Rumble, and I loved it, it was the first anime i ever watched that made me want to read the Manga. Though i absolutely HATED how School Rumble ended.
