The question is, who's gunner position is Saori in? While I don't think that's a machine gun mount, it looks smaller than the 75mm of the Panzer IV.
The "mystery character" looks like a French pirate...probably operating their submarine school/city ship.

It may just be a re-imaging of the hull MG position, manned by the radio operator, that we would always see in the TV series OP sequence.

Will be a serious match with something tangible on the line or will it be a more casual practice/exhibition match?
Will it be Flag or Elimination? So far the only team we've seen Oorai face who they could arguably have beaten in the elimination format is Anzio. The whole underdogs with a fraction of the numbers and tank quality of the enemy team overcoming adversity to snatch a close win from the jaws of defeat only works if it's a Flag match. Is this just the next year's tournament? In the movie though the Mext guy said they'd be switching over to elimination for the pro leagues/WT and that they need to get used to that as the standard format and whatnot so is BC Freedom going to be another Anzio-eque team with greater numbers but lackluster equipment? I do understand that as was first mentioned as early as the first episode, again purely through Momo's dialogue, the news that Panzerfahren World Cup/Tournament would be taking place in Japan in a few years could easily just be a piece of world building and nothing more with the creators (especially at the time) never actually planning to follow the story that far into the future. So far Oorai has not been shown to be a team that wouldn't get convincingly defeated when facing schools that bring the full might of their repertoire to bear. This is strongly evidenced by every main tournament match besides Anzio. Suanders, Pravda, and Black Forest would all have crushed them had those matches been elimination. There must be a larger story at work here. Surely it'll be something more complex than I don't know BC Freedom just challenges them to a match with nothing but Oorai's pride on the line because they're that years champions/they heard they (along with help from about 5 others schools) beat a University All Stars team or something. I mean BC Freedom is one of many schools we never got to see that practice Panzerfahren, but while I'll still watch and hopefully enjoy more mainline GuP I'd like a good reason as to why were seeing those other schools in action beyond the arbitrary reasons I came up with. It's hard to follow up their school ship is at stake to it just being a sport with nothing on the line besides the gratification of victory and the sting of defeat that comes with any serious competitive commitment and not have it feel lacking by comparison.

Frankly, der FIlm was really quite over the top in the stakes department anyway. Rather than try to top it, it's probably better to keep things lighthearted. |

The only over the top situation that is left is that their City-Ship takes damage and is in danger of sinking unless they can come up with the funds to repair the ship (the ship was due to be scrapped for some reason before).
BC Freedom's City-Ship is a submarine if I recall correctly.

The franchise or to be more specific the sport of Senshado/Panzerfahren has little to work with when depicting actual matches. Case in point, Der Film made numerous references to match events that happened during the tournament. Self references that early on in a franchise's life span scream of a shallow idea pool.
There are only so many different scenarios to work with when writing up the play by play of tank on tank combat. That is to say making each match feel unique becomes increasingly more challenging the more they make. So while they're not yet scrapping the bottom of the barrel for ideas (plenty of real world WW2 and older tanks have yet to be featured in any capacity for starters) the franchise's popularity/money making potential is unfortunately for greater than its practical long term potential as long as it remains true to its roots as purely tanks against tanks with an effort to make each match worthwhile. So I really do hope this Finale OVA series truly is the end. I don't want to see mainline entries in the franchise decay into mediocrity because they ran out of good worthwhile ideas for match scenario, but kept going because it's a money maker.

Actually, Maginot High School has a submarine as a schoolship and not BC Freedom.
With recent news of Bandai owning Actas because of the GuP property, I don't see it ending yet after Das Finale though it might end the Miho/Oarai story. |

Ah, the other French school. Of course.
The story could always pick back up with the International Tournament they keep mentioning happening in a few years. Miho would be just entering college, and only her starting group's freshmen would still be in high school.
