I see why everyone is pissed off about the latest chapter, that cliffhanger. (it is really pretty interesting).

I really like Fairy Tail right now though certainly compared to the other major read shonen series... the quality has consistently been way better IMO overall. Maybe I'm biased because of the music from the anime.

I actually think that if this is a heel-face turn (it wasn't that badly executed) and I'm fine with it.

Though right now I'm liking all of the plot threads that are involved. Though I really still feel absolutely terrible for Wendy. She and Carla (however you spell Charla) didn't deserve that...

^ It's common to parody that somewhat now... and for some reason I'm getting a sort of different vibe from this...

I liked the little exchange between Minerva and Maard Geer. It was kinda funny how it went back and forth a few times.

The action is pretty good in the twin dragon fight so far. I can't see Maard losing just yet, but I do think that the twin dragons stand as good a chance as any to take him out.

It's not common for Mashima to leave the same cliffhanger twice in a row. I don't actually remember the last time he did it, or if he did it at all. Either way, it's one of the things I loathe in other shounen manga, and I hope it doesn't become a habit. He's normally really good with the pacing and doesn't hold out on the exposition when it's necessary. I hope he only did it because he wasn't completely satisfied with the scene and needed a bit more time to make it perfect.

Mashima is no Kubo - we can be thankful for that at least. Or rather, thankful that he is not the master of 'weekly chapters where nothing happens'.

Question of the day: Did Silver steal/possess that body? On another note - THIS is the fight where I wanted Gray and Ultear to double-team against Silver - just seems appropriate to do so.

I'm wondering that myself, Grey's comment at the end makes me feel that there's a lot more to this than just some "I'm your father" reveal.

I think Silver is "Ul". She did die when she fought Deliora but she was also reincarnated into Zeref's monster. Her appearance distorted into a man as well as her personality. So her love towards her student also changed to hatred. It would be weird seeing "I am your father" thing again(Gildartz, Ivan) as well as having someone who uses ice-magic appear now. Or is it Ul's husband(Ultear's dad)...?

I thought it was a pretty nice but not entirely unpredictable twist, since all of Oracion Seis was in the Tower of Heaven. I also liked Jellal's part in that arc. I don't think he was that good in the Grand Magic Games but overall I think he's a great character.

I admit that I'm not too fond of every minor plot thread leading back to the Tower of Heaven, but with Jellal himself I don't have any problem.

But we already had the future characters (future Lucy and future Rogue) and parallel world characters(Edolas).
