And yeah, a lot of things share names. There's thousands of anime/manga and thousands of movies, so at least a couple will share names. |

It's because it was based on an eroge visual novel where you would choose one of the girls whose path you would follow and such.
They kept true to it in the anime, where you didn't really know who he would choose until the very end. |

Eh, Bleach can refer to a lot of things. In my opinion, it refers to the fact that whever they pull a fat deus ex machina, you do a facepalm and in that quick second as you close your eyes in front of a bright screen with a palm incoming, your vision goes all white for a fraction of a second, therefore, Bleach. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Magical Girl - Self-explanatory. Lyrical - Her magical girl battle cry of doom and whatnot. Similar to yelling "BANKAI! + Whatever it's called." or "Haayaattteeee!!" at times. Nanoha - No idea where this comes from. |

Full Metal Alchemist
When I first heard the name I thought they had arranged for a group of drunken monkeys to choose the words from a dictionary. disclaimer: I know the name was latter explained in the series

As far as I know, Neon Genesis Evangelion is the "official" translation. A more literal translation of the Japanese title (Shin Seiki Evangelion) is "Gospel of the New Era" - it might not be exactly that, but you get the idea. If you've seen the show, the more literal translation makes a little more sense, but not much.

Naruto
What the Fu@$·& is the meaning of "Naruto"?! Tokio Mew Mew I like that serie but the name stinks. And even more the american "Mew Mew Power" Inu-Yasha Yeah, right. The Inu-Dog is so "cool" that the serie must use his name Sakura Card Captors I love this anime but the name sounds really ridiculus Digimon Digital Monsters... Don't fu@$% me!

What can I say? English titles for anime are cool, so they use them often in anime.

Anyways, probably Naruto Shippuden. Just plain old "Naruto" was enough. And also "One Piece". What is it "one piece" of? I know it isn't WORST title, but the title "Lucky Star" was sort of unusual to me. I don't really see too many actual stars in it. I really like the show, but, I never got that part of the title. |

But still, it doesn't really make sense. Oh, and "Fate /stay night" too. Or is it "Fate stay/night"?? Watch the TV, play the game, read the comic, and still don't know what "Fate stay night" is. |

Are you asking for the meaning of why they used 'Naruto' as the title? It's because 'Naruto' is the main character's name, duh.
Plus, there's nothing wrong with using the main character's name as the title. SUPERMAN? BATMAN? SPIDERMAN? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS? Quote:
PS: I'm not a fan of neither of these anime. |

dam is for damn, or at least that's how felt watching most parts of gundam seed destiny.
bleach would always be a contender for having a bad anime title. if creator made the name for no reason, it's not really much, but after so many episodes (or chapters for the manga) and i find out that there is a definite meaning, then all i can say is meh... the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya. the title's too long, even in japanese, so it's kinda troublesome for a lazy arse like me. other titles are like this too, but haruhi (the title) doesn't really draw me in. hellsing. honestly, the extra l seems to repel me. i like the manga (despise the anime), but it took me a long time to watch/read it for the extra letter. |
