There were certainly less tense spots to end it, and more tense ones. But the structure of the episode is ideal for partial patches, unlike some of the previous ones.

Huh. I installed the patch and now my new ONScripter exe doesn't open. It opens the window and then closes it. Hopefully it'll work if I reinstall the game with the disk.

That was the original plan, actually, but that'd have made for a fairly tiny first patch, and we'd already translated well past that part. Have no fear, though, since the next patch is likely to end at an even worse cliffhanger

With all of the Engrish in this episode, it makes me wonder...

...IF the Anime comes to this part, will they just find English voice actors instead?

Ohara does English more epically than the overwhelming majority of native speakers of the language.

Did they actually correct any of the english used in the anime? There were quite a few that were outright stupidly-phrased, but I don't even specifically remember if they even included the engrish in the series at all.

If they did Chiru it seems like they'd have to, as there's much more english dropping going on there.

I assume you're talking about the Windows version, right? Was that the installer, or zip? And did you run the executable that came with the patch (Umineko no Naku Koro ni EP7.exe), or did you run another version of ONScripter (such as ONScripter-en.exe)?

Perhaps there is some application running that is hogging DirectX somehow?

While UncleMion is breaking her brains over what could be causing this error, could you try updating your DirectX installation?
