Jokes aside, Isekai seriously needs to become its own genre at this point. I like this show, though. It's basically an Isekai show mixed with Shougeki no Soma. I love it.

"Ordinary High School Student Trapped in Another World" is a very old Genre at this point

I'm surprised that Kuro is actually working well in the restaurant

I don't think a fisherman is a very lucrative occupation (especially with just a small boat like he has), and that first date cost him 4 silver coins (2 steaks each). Or 5 days of Aletta's housekeeping wages.

From Ramdom Curiousity blog, Zaiden went to Coco Ichibanya curry restaurant in Japan some times ago. And speaking of which, I just saw the same restaurant in Malaysia, and it's the latest addition to its Asian market since December last year. China was its first since 2004, by the way.

Well, he is apparently single and being on sea whole day doesn't give much chances spend much money anyway. 14 silver coins is pretty expensive for him, but it's pretty manageable and actually very cheap in comparison of ones life

Fine dining in Japan

I've eaten in a Matsuya (a restaurant chain like the Cocos) a couple of times but I wasn't really impressed by the curry rice they serve up there. It was nearby though (just across the street from the Shin-Osaka shinkansen station east entrance). My fast-food eat-and-run of choice while in Japan is a Yoshinoya beef bowl and a small salad to keep my digestive system from blocking up completely. Second is any place serving ramen but it takes longer to get through a bucket of pork, noodles and broth. Third is Mister Donut, a fine traditional Japanese eating place.

I could really go for an isekai show involving a Mister Donut opening in a fantasy world...

Is Mister Donut in other countries really that good? My only experience with them is here in the Philippines, where they're so ubiquitous (including seeing the donuts sold by themselves at 7-11's) that I kinda see it as a "cheap" donut. The donuts themselves also tend to be dry, which further adds to the impression.

This show has finally convinced me to try making authentic Hambagu.
The only issue is that I had to make it at 3 times the quantity, due to the pork and beef being 500g each.

So now I have 12 patties in the fridge. I will probably cook the whole lot tomorrow and then portion them for freezing. I even went and bought red wine for the first time ever. Good thing wine is almost cheaper than bottled water these days. The local farmers grew too much.

In the mean time, I am caramelising 2 kg worth of onions.

Cooking alone is all about batch cooking. Last week I made Taiwanese style beef stew. I am surprised at how easy it was.

Since people have been talking about food... I don't have much time to make the more complicated dishes... but have been experimenting with omelettes for the past weeks. So far, the scrambled egg with a little margarine and a little slice of american cream cheese beaten into it tasted good - but I can only eat it once a week, due to the extreme calories it puts into the body.

The section about the dwarves made me repeatedly giggle aloud (such a classic portrayal of the fantasy race!), but the section about the shy Arabian prince who fell in love with the lovely yet sickly princess of the Empire was adorable.

Such a good series. ^^

Very cute, although I hope he can manage to speak to her more normally at some point. Acting sulky and just looking at her out of the corner of his eye isn't going to get him anywhere.

Not unless she's into the silent and aloof type, which I highly doubt she is.

a romance development between the restaurant visitor is cute... but I'll prefer if it is imouto route

and those dwarves are treating the door like a national treasure by making a sturdy door to access it
and now I want some Seafood Platter which is really costly here

There is absolutely nothing like having greasy deep fried seafood while knocking back a few cold ones, especially if you do it by the beach!

I found the melon float segment to be one of the more interesting ones thus far. I also liked that the girl whom I initially took for a jealous consort turned out to be the prince's younger half sister who's exasperated by her brother's inability to communicate with the foreign princess he's taken an interest in. He does have one thing going for him though: he has access to one of those doors!
