From what I found online, this looks interesting. Mainly due to the gag where the guy really doesn't want to be a girl but is forced to anyways. Add to the wierd school, barbed wire fences separating the girls and guys side?

Sadly, like most series nowadays derived from novels, I'm guessing the novels for this series won't be translated. If they are translated, they will do one volume every year or two.

The one weird thing about the story is how the guy's voice doesn't change even in girl form. Which I find a little messed up. But glad it's animated.

Well, original sources of anime adaptations tend not to be translated regardless of the format. At least these animes are getting certain light novels more exposure and having them translated. Whether by fans or companies.

Oh. I just realized that the English manga translation is only at 2 chapters. Based on the responses I thought it already has a large chunk translated.

I'm not sure where meh learned it, but it does kinda say it in the wiki if you try and Google Translate it. There's also a Chinese translation floating around somewhere of the novel.

Since it is Google Translator/Bablefish - who knows what they are really trying to say.

Well, either way its impossible to tell as of now whether or not he retains his male voice when he changes into a female unless it explicitly states it somewhere as you can't really talk or tell in a manga or light novel

Just to clear up I read the first volume. Don't remember exactly the situation because I didn't like it that much. But something about the guy not wanting to speak to his friends because they'd recognize his voice. I remember going WTF at that. Kind of weird since there are a lot of even more WTF stuff in the book. But that particular instance for some reason was the only thing I remembered.

I didn't like the story enough to continue reading. But I'd welcome an anime adaptation.

I don't have the original mangascans but according to the novels it should translate to "You even sound like Shizuka-chan when you talk."

I wasn't too impressed with the novels too but I think it's hilarious enough to make a nice anime adaptation. Looking forward to this.

ah so then this was a fault by the manga translator.
or probably in japanese it says "the voice is [...]" in the context talking about the stuffed animal. because of the structure of the manga you could get that wrong.

well i dont mind if it adds something to the comedy.

So the guys voice actually sounds like a girl. (I suddenly reminded of Makoto Kikuchi, the tomboy from Idolmaster, maybe her VA (Hiromi Hirata) will be doing both the male & female voices of the protagonist.)

I would like to see Minagawa Junko be casted as the lead, since like Romi Paku she has a very good young male voice compared to most female seiyuus. As for Akane I demand Megumi Toyoguchi!

it's nothing new considering sekirei is a clone of hundreds of other harem animes as well.

at least the main character starts straight off getting involved in the fighting instead of being a sidelined useless emotional comfort toy for the females, that's one of my major pet peeves with the genre.

either way hopefully it won't catch up with the novels (though honestly i doubt it will considering how many books are out)
