I gather it was a combination of factors. They live a fairly long time, and hence have a corresponding birth rate. Plus, humans hunted them down in their sleep because they feared them. Hajime got the pile bunker idea from a book about it. You would have to ask someone who can actually read the raw for the full story.

They have cleared 2 of the dungeons so far. They were going to search for a third one when they got roped into a search mission in exchange for status plates for Yue and Shia. Now that they have picked up the next heroine(though she isn't really in the group yet, its inevitable), we can expect the third dungeon sometime soon. They still have to get roped into defending the town from demons somehow, and then make their getaway first.

So if i got this right, after he mastered the orcus dungeon:

He met the maker of the dungeon. From him he learnt how to craft strong artifacts. He also learnt about the gods. And it turns out the god which summoned Hajime and his class, is actually evil or mad? By learning all this he became the dungeon makers successor and there are seven more dungeons he must master to be able to defeat the evil god and go home? Because of that, and because he felt betrayed by his classmates, he starts to travel around with yue to search for the remaining great dungeons. During his travels, he comes to the bunny village where he prevents their abduction by soldiers. Though I don't know from which kingdom. Was it even stated? In this village Hajime and Yue meet Shia, I believe? And because they helped the bunny people and because she takes an interest in Hajime she tags along with them? Then they go to the second great dungeon, which is full of traps. And because of a feature of the dungeon their magic doesn't work? Here Shia can display her awesome superpowers and is unconditionally accepted into the group. Before that yue I believe didn't accept her and Hajime didn't care about her? And with the help of the super bunny (XD) they mastered the dungeon. At the end they got gravity magic before begin flushed out of the dungeon. But not before Hajime could leave behind a present! (XD) By the way did they meet the maker of the second dungeon? Afterwards they continued traveling and in order to get statues plates, they agreed to participate in a search mission to search for a monster that attacked people? On the way there, Hajime meets his teacher and some of his classmates? And he has a bad attitude towards them and then shows of his awesomeness by calling out a car after the teacher convinced him to let her and her students tag along? The classmates are happy to know that he is alive and are shocked at how awesome he has become. (XD) The Male classmates are jealous of Hajime, because of Shia.but the female classmates smell a forbidden love story and ask Shia all kinds of questions. (XD) Then the third? Heroine makes her entrance and it turns out its a dragon. She has been attacking humans because some genius dark magician, whose description resembles a classmate of Hajime, brainwashed her in her sleep and the same guy is now starting a attack with a horde of monsters?

And that's how far the novel is. Did I get it right? Or did something of note happen in between?

I think he made the car using monster materials? because of the reward for clearing Orcus's dungeon was the ability to make magic artifacts. He needs the status plates for Yue and Shia because the guilds generally prefer it and they can easily get into trouble if they cause a scene without being identified or having no rank.(not sure about this part). He took that job because he wants the guy to guarantee he won't spill the contents of the status plates to anyone hes going to make for Yue and Shia(b/c their stats should be OP as hell with god level magic, etc) and he doesn't want the church to know about their stengths yet(don't want to go back and super OP)

After he got the ability to make artifacts, he made a motorcycle and a Hummer-like car. He doesn't know enough mechanics to make a real engine, but he doesn't have to. He can use direct manipulation of magic to power the wheels, and his drilling/synergy to act as a suspension. It doesn't have the man's romance of an engine sound though, which Hajime was disappointed with.

He wants the status plates for convenience. It's basically an ID/license. You need it to hold rank in the adventurer's guild and provide it to enter a town. Also, being able to keep track of their improvement would be helpful, although they aren't treated like absolute numbers like game stats.

I gather the status plates are made in a different way, considering they are still being produced and Hajime is the only one who can make artifacts that we know of. He has no idea how they work.

The guard didn't freak out. He just kinda stared and blinked cause he thought he was hallucinating. Hajime managed to pass it off as broken in a demon attack, which the guard buys. He hasn't heard of one ever being broken like that, but its far more likely than someone with demon king-like stats showing up to buy supplies, right?

The plates have the option to hide the stats and only show general information, but he forgot about it at the time.

On a slightly unrelated note, you should read the part where Shia calls Yue a pettanko at their first meeting. She tried to use a "help a pretty girl <3", which Hajime completely blows off. Then he mentions he already has a pretty girl with him, who is obviously a lot more dignified. Shia looks at Yue getting all girly and embarrassed, and is sorta intimidated as a woman. Then she notices where she has an absolute advantage, and was dumb enough to mention it. Yue drops the girly act right fast, and then gives her a moment for Hajime to pray for her. One-shot!

I've got a question about that. Does Hajime actually care about Shia or is he indifferent towards her? Or did his attitude change over time? Because as far as I could understand he's somewhat indifferent but she later gets accepted as being a member of the groupe?

...and its mostly right(while missing a bunch of stuff), with one major exception. Hajime isn't clearing the dungeons with the intent of facing the mad god or anything. He just wants the item/power that will give him the transition magic to go home, and the dungeons are his best lead. It's gonna take a lot more character development before he will risk his neck for a world he really doesn't like. Revenge isn't on the agenda either.

Why was Yue angry at the end? Was it because Hajime was totally apathetic to killing members of his own race or because Shia would be travelling with them?

From what I understood, Hajime went through a trial (arm wrestling?) to gain the elders' approval to enter the dungeon, but overdid it and crippled his opponent?
I also read about some demon threatening that village, I couldn't make much sense from this chapter.

Yue was angry because he fought alone, but she isn't any more merciful than he is. She just wants him to rely on her. She calms back down once he explains his reasons.

Not even close. The rabbit people were banished from the beastman( I don't think thats the right name, but w/e) city because of Shia, and they not only broke their banishment but guided a human through the forest. They don't exactly have a shining relationship with humans(sarcasm), so the bear sub-group tried to execute them. The leader attacked Hajime with killing intent, but you can guess how that ended. Hajime isn't merciful to people who attack him. He is lucky to have lived, even though he was crippled. They asked him not to kill anyone during his stay afterwards, as he can obviously subdue them easily enough. Hajime reluctantly agrees.
