All of the social links can be shortened; if reduced to the most relevant scenes, 5 episodes worth of time would be more than enough to squeeze in the important ones.

I'm not saying it's bad but the story isn't as epic as P3's I'm sure there are a lot of animation studio's willing to animate Persona 3 Atlus just doesn't do that because they have to allow it first. They made the sensible choice too, Persona 4 is the most recent release of the game + It will be getting a remake next year / fighting game will also be released next year. Combined with the fact that P4 has a clearer plot / story line than compared to P3 |

I'm pretty sure even this adaptation made because Atlus is behind it, the timing can't be more coincidental with two new game coming up.

Persona 4 is their current focus, hence the anime project.
I think it's worth noting that Atlus isn't the same company as it used to be. With Index management now running the show, we're seeing broader use of their properties, such as spin-offs, anime, manga, etc. P4 is the start (as a mixed media franchise), and it's no coincidence that it's the first game to get an anime adaptation. |

I think it's not the first or second time Atlus "orders" an anime for one of its games. You guys have mentioned P: Trinity Soul, but iirc they did something with a Pokémon-like VG long time ago ("Demikids" was its name?). And neither it's the first time they release spinoff games of the successful ones. It's just that nowadays they're more famous because the latest games were well sold inside Japan and overseas, I guess.
I don't think it's Index "fault" entirely. Just the natural outcoming. |
