I'm really going to miss this series. Even when the first season ended, they announced the second season, but it'll be a long time until there will be enough material for a third season. With two series already completed, they'll probably make a third when the novels are done, hopefully? Wonder if they can manage to have the anime and light novels conclude in the same month, I think its been done before, and the last few episodes already set a good example.
The boss fight was over relatively fast, but that left a good deal of time for other stuff (and shows what Shiroe is like when he's going all out). Too bad they never contacted the moon (but still made someone else pretty important), and it looks like Roe2 has gotten them something even better than just a communicator. Though probably the biggest shock was that Spoiler for episode spoiler:
Glad it ended on a happy note, with a few major advancements on several plots, here's hoping for eventual news of another season. Liked the callbacks to the beginning (I think that was intended with Naotsugu and Akatsuki's attacks?), as well as Shiroe's character growth. |

Man this was a such a Epic conclusion and the boos battle while fast was well done. the second half more info dumping
Spoiler:
It really another season but i knew they would not announce this soon since they have no more materials to adapt....so if mamare keeps posting at the same rate of chapters we should have a second season in 1 1/2 to 2 years time..... just one more to finsih the series that is all we need. Oh we got a glimpse of K.R's Dragon girlfriend no talk tough to bad....so the possiblity of war has now shrunk to deal with the genius crisis. Speaking of which there is still so much left to do...god pls a s3 make it happen dont leave us hanging ater coming so far :P |

I didn't mind the final boss Taliktan being some pro summoner but the fight itself and the aftermath just weird. I guess they didn't want the adventures to end any time soon.
Not sure how this was adapted from the LN from here since I haven't caught up to the latest volume. Anyways, fight was alright but Kanami's appearance didn't really impress me. Felt like the series had to add some comedy moments for moderate reactions. The show overall was quite fun though imo. Not as good as first season imo. Even animation quality didn't match the caliber of it. But overall, it was a fun season. Maybe we can expect more LH anime in the future.

Kanami's appearance served to offer another opinion on the Going Home vs Staying debate. Log Horizon have been doing the opposite of what dot Hack and SAO have been doing, which is condemning escapism or presenting Going Home as the only right option for Adventurers. There are those, like that Odyssey Knight, who WANT to go home, those who want to stay and people like Kanami who want to "slide" between worlds at will to show them to their family. Then there are the People of the Land. Sure, there is a looming war but it doesn't mean that People of the Land didn't make friends with the Adventurers (Log Horizon & Rudy, West Wind Brigade & Sara, Kanami & Elias), so going home also means leaving those new friends behind and also leaving People of the Land at the whims of mobs with infinite spawn and Genius monsters. Which fucking sucks unless the Adventurers solves those two issues. So the best ending possible is to connect the two worlds and solve the monster problem.

I think Kanami's presence was a helpful one. That person just thinks of and demands things that people would not normally think of. As much as Shiroe was pushed into a mental corner thinking they could either only save that world or save the chance to get back home, the options were so much wider than that. So glad to have her show up if only to give Shiroe a path.
Because this is a situation where all those options have value. There are some people who aren't going to want to go home, at least not right away. They are basically immortals so staying there has that benefit, but eventually you might want to get out. This whole sliding thing does give more flexibility. Though I will say Kanami is remarkably calm considering how long they've been in that world and she's been separated from her child and presumably her husband. Although with him not being mentioned who knows. Was nice that they at least said "yeah Crusty is alive" although the one who comes to get him might not be what he predicted . Also I kind of wonder if this sliding option will mean people of the land leaving to Earth? Would kind of tie in to Lenessia's grandfather saying she had a different job/path. Heck she could end up the ambassador between that world and the Earth if you go crazy enough . In the end it was a solid season. I kind of liked the first one more since the stories in the second season weren't quite as interesting to me. It did open things up though, now there is a real path forward for Shiroe and the story. Though who knows when we'll come back to it. Quote:
Log Horizon is much more the standard fantasy world question stretching back to series like Inuyasha. Do you live in your world, the fantasy world, or slide between? If you are actually going back and forth then all those options have fair value to them.

Oh damn, did Kanami had a daughter? Was like she's 25+ years old when she moved to Europe and logged back into Elder Tale? Still, it's a surprise that Kanami is a MILF... and not only that, she got Krusty-san of all people!
Meanwhile, I'm glad that Nureha defied Indicus by negotiating to a peace treaty towards Eastal and the Round Table Alliance. On the other hand, Roe 2 got the better of her big brother by getting a rocket ship! It's a crazy run and I hope that in 2 years time, we'll have the final season of Log Horizon. Not as great animation-wise, but it's a great season nevertheless! |

the ship is sinking.. I repeat... it is sinking
okay... back to this magnificent episode It is an intense raid... I never encounter any 4-party raid in any game before but this is brilliant way to do raid and also watching how Log Horizon stole most of the spotlight including finishing more and combination move, Shiroe's guild is clearly a formidable one right now Kanami is here! love that facial expression from Debauchery members'... I never predict Shiroe would agree with Kanami's quest. It sounds impossible and so far, we don't have any clue about how it would happened.. But this development has placed a foundation for next season and I'm looking forward for it and Crusty... how the hell he ended up there? Poor Rieze... She didn't manage to greet him at all and poor Lenessia... Crusty didn't consider her to be the one who will pick him up imouto-zoned clearly! Minami's Plant Hwayden started to feel some rift and would encounter Akiba in the future for Akiba, since they know about Crusty's whereabout, Genius' phenomenon, and antenna's role, I think in the future they would be in so many interesting quests Watching the ending scene made me realize that this season is really not as bad as season 1 I really enjoy everything... Every Log Horizon members has getting stronger |

An enjoyable series, getting close to the end, hope to have one last season in a year or two to wrap things up to a conclusion. Going to miss my weekly dose of glasses adjusting.
A good final episode, getting to see the raid members show off and for Shiroe getting into the action personally instead of his usual armchair general routine. The original trio, Shiroe, Nagotsu, and Akatsuki's combos were fun to watch. |

Well that was a surprise reveal about Kanami's martial status.
She has been elevated to a MILF. No wonder her boobs got huge! Oh and GA-TAN! GA-TAN IN THE ANIME! Hell yeah. (KR's loli girlfriend. She's the human form of the dragon you saw him summon in the Kanami Go East episode) I really wish she had a line though!

Best episode for long time. Boss battle was pretty standard, but Kaname ...well being Kaname was hillarious
Oh, yeah and she has daughter. While you need two for making one, she still can be widow or divorced... but I guess It's best time jump fully on Henrietta ship anyway. PS: Kanami is still best character. PSS: Kr is wrong, having dragon loli girlfriend definitely classify him into protagonist territory .

Also, don't give up hope for another season!
The End card by Mamare was mostly a thank you message for all the people involved, but he ends with "we've sworn to see us all reunited again", "don't say farewell the ride isn't over yet", and "just watch what we'll do next time!" etc, etc. Definitely strong hint that they eventually want to do the last season. (if there is a s3, it would be the final five volume)

However, I think Shiroe doesn't really "love" her in any romantic way. He respects her to a great extent (even more than any other Tea Party's members) because she's (somewhat) the complete opposite of him: bright, cheerful, outgoing, straightforward and does things on a whim; but due to these qualities that make her a great leader who can see other possibilites that no on can thinks of , especially to a gloomy guy like Shiroe who tends to stays in the shadow while thinking too much P.S: I also like how Rieze becomes all teary when she learnt that her Lord is still alive
