There have been other shows which were announced with pieces of 2D promotional art where the show itself ended up being full CG. (Danchi Tomoo is a recent example.) That's not a guarantee of anything. If the show wasn't going to be entirely CG, I would have expected a 2D animation studio to be listen as co-producing it along with Sanzigen.

You're probably right. We'll see. I just can't imagine this being completely CG. Although imo it wasn't bad in Re:009.

Well, that lineup has me, indeed, worried. Though, if the RBS connected ones just focuses solely on animation, I'll be happy. And DMC music creator isn't fo' shame.

If they really fail at this adaption, I be a sad one. There isn't enough naval anime to go around.

I was excited when i saw the announcement but after reading the thread i just hope it will a decent adaptation, it's not like we got alot of good Sci Fi manga.

^ Looking good. It seems they get the hang of 401 & Heavy-Cruiser Takao’s designs. Can’t wait to see them in action.

On the other hand, the chara-designs still look too sketchy to me. Need to wait for the better ones.

They look good so far. Still, there’s this thing that’s bugging me when I see those colored chara-designs: they look like cel-shading characters

. Is it because the studio can only do CG animation (like Re: Cyborg 009) that they decide to cel-shade the characters? I hope I’m wrong about this, but if it’s right then consider me really worried until I see the actual episode.

The designs are not bad but the cell shading like effect make them look a bit weird IMO.

Those character designs are clearly celshaded. I'm not mad though, the designs look good regardless. I'd have preferred 2D though.

No, they don't do any 2D animation. They're a full 3DCG animation studio.

Either way, the character sheet has text below it which confirms it's a full 3DCG anime production. So that's that.
