How the hell does the ED sequence of this series ended up being the most blatant yuri-filled sequence than every other sequences of real yuri series?!!

Aoi Hana's yuri is more subdued and goes with flowers, pastels and the occasional nudity.
"Aggressive zone" is loud, bright, colorful and features girls kissing each other in various places.

And yet, both are released by Lantis, because they handle the music for a hell of a lot of series.

This is bad? What? Sure it draws its manly energies from the likes of GL but it doesn't mean that this isn't unique in its own right. Not even going into the realm of guilty pleasure, this left a positive first impression on me.

Even I enjoyed ep1, and this is not my normal genre. Sure, it may be oddly animated sometimes, and sure it's derivative of GL, but I found it good entertainment.

I objected to what seemed to me ugly violence in Fight! Ippatsu Juudenchan, but this gives us truly comic violence and doesn't bother me at all. I laughed out loud.

Neither the OP nor the ED song does much for me, but the images in both are interesting.

This is pretty much a straight adaption of chapter 1 of the manga which came out in 2004. I agree that the visual style/effects are similar (and vastly inferior, IMAGIN lol) to Lagann but don't go any further with comparisons since this predates Lagann by 3 years.

Neither the OP or the ED make any sense but at least the OP has something to do with the show (although I guess there are still plenty of episodes to tie in the ED lol?). Long as the main character starts doing something constructive in a few episodes should be worth watching till the end.

Its like crossovers between Gurren lagann and Guilty Gear, filled with explosions, fanservice, boobs, yelling and hard rock musics, lets see...

Blade - Sol and Kamina
Eve - Yoko
Cruz / Yamada (lol) - Simon

I got the feeling Cruz's gonna be badass later on and I like the entire setting. Will definitely follow this....

Not even going into the realm of guilty pleasure, this left a positive first impression on me. ep 1 Spoiler: Well the manliness certainly clicked but what about the humor...hmm that was more hit and miss but at least there were bits in the episode that made me burst out in laughter (eg a certain princess comes rolling in on her motorcycle then getting kicked in the face for being to dere dere). It is slap stick comedy and I like it, others might not. The story was messy but not in a way where you couldn't get what is going on. There is obviously a lot that needs to be filled in but for now they started things off with a quick introduction of the characters and the situation, a cheap cannon fodder villain for the good guys to show off their skills and a kick ass battle scene where people scream to increase their power levels = awesome. Manly GAR has always ticked my fancy ever since GL and seeing the formula again once in a while is a godsend amongst repetitive genres like romance. The fanservice was a real shocker for me though as I never would have expected the ED to be something that panders to otaku fetishes...in contrast to the manliness of the OP I felt that it was a mismatch child of some GAR anomalie but it surprisingly worked! Who says you can't have GAR without blinding service? This might be history in the making (if it wasn't for GL coming up with that idea first). Anyway I enjoyed this first episode quite a bit. It is cliched good smashes bad but it is also enjoyable and fun. The characters are likable (maybe not the little twerp) and the mood is so far lighthearted and fun with manly bits thrown about. I won't be worried about the story just yet as the are going to be getting into that and the ED is drool worthy. MADHOUSE is really going mad with this. i have a lot of respect for them since the era they animated Cardcaptor Sakura, but this time my respect for them gone past the eleven and to the eleven again. the ED is really vulgar. if Aoi Hana is a package of sweet cake (the cake is a liebetrayal) from reputable bakery, just the ED of NEEDLESS is like having the content of ice cream truck dumped over you. __________________ If there's a Final Fantasy game that I must put my personal seal of disapproval on, it's Crisis Core. I mean, just look at how this Genesis Rhapsodos dude is raping the canon. It's bad. As in, fanfiction bad.

So I pray that if this actually somehow becomes a TTGL, it won't end the same way (alas, GAINAX gave all the main characters in TTGL the middle finger... but at least Madhouse is behind this one, so there's hope __________________ Gifted...or Cursed?
