That was great. Had my doubts at the opening, but once we moved on to the present day stuff I really liked it.
Was not expecting Initial-D style drift racing, and the shot of the speedometer showing a perfectly acceptable speed kind of reminded me of that episode of Top Gear where they're driving cars in America and cut to the speedo showing 55. But then it got better. I did like the whole 'behind-the-scenes' aspect of the show, the little in-jokes (G.I.Staff indeed!), but what I liked most about it was this:- This is a show about working adults. It's a show about working adults who look like adults and that's bloody rare in this day and age. Sure, it's no Hataraki Man, but it's much better than "High School Girls Do Stuff #34123". If it can keep up that workplace feel I'm in. |

I wonder if there's a character based on Mari Okada in this show.
That was highly enjoyable. This is definitely no shallow moefest. They are obviously playing up the moe (and romantizising the working environment) but it's to an acceptable level I think. It's given far more focus to the inner workings of an animation studio which was fantastic. It went by a little fast but I imagine it'll slow down a bit eventually. I like the main character btw. She's basically Jamie Hazaford in an alternate umiverse.

Ep 01
This was a pretty good premier ep for me. Lots and lots and lots of characters (already hopelessly lost ) but I kinda like what looks to be a realistic and detailed glimpse of the inner day to day workings at an animation studio, and 2 cour of this is encouraging my hopes even more. Pretty interesting. Will tentatively commit for now.

Terrific. Yokote Michiko did a great job weaving the story. The high school scenes gave us a background, and the present day work scenes were enthralling. An interesting symphony of josei realism (the top animator and her hard job) with cute girls moe (the high school scenes) and shounen action (the ridiculous, dangerous, and highly effective hard-driving scenes). Shoujo romance to come?
Not as riveting to me as Glasslip, but comparisons are reasonable. A serious work, in any case. One negative: the voice-acting here seemed pretty uneven to me. But it was all good enough to tell the story. Anyway, highly worth watching to this point.

That was an excellent first episode. It might have too many characters introduced but we are looking in the anime industry so it is kind of expected. I'm expecting we are going learn a little bit of everyone as it progress. To where? That I do not know. Given this is a two cour anime (around 24 to 26 episodes) I don't think we are just going to follow just Exodus (which I really hope becomes a special in the DVD/blu-ray). It might follow all of the main girls actually doing their own company and making their own anime. Now that be interesting. Whether this series goes I be interested and P.A. Works must have found something in it to warrant such a length. It was quite informative and also funny too. There's also so many references (G.I Staff = Production I.G. and J.C. Staff and Varner Bros is well you guys should know ). I'm fully expecting some familiar faces in the voice acting side given they already took a jabbed twice in the staff side with the director being Seiji Mizushima (director of FMA) and the president as Masao Maruyama (Madhouse co-founder and CEO of MAPPA). So I expect Kana Hanazawa in there somewhere and them poking fun that she basically is in everything . Still great animation and those drifting scenes were great. Also another thing I like is the tone, it's not too happy go lucky but it's also not too gloomy on the anime industry. It's realistic I say. This has more potential then Glasslip and dare I say Nagi no Asukara (just judging by the first episode). Also can you imagine how meta this is for the staff creating this I mean imagine if the anime their making wasn't Exodus and instead similar to this anime then it be in an endless loop .
