Not mysterious at all, consider their respective upbringing.

To Nagisa, loving her parents are second nature, since her parents gave her so much unrequist love and they get along together so well, heck she even thinks (mistakingly) that her parents gave up their acting career for her. Tomoya hated his dad and his mum died when he was young, thus he doesn't understand what family love is. Sunohara went to boarding house to escape from his nagging parents and sister, he is loved by his family but he view it as annoying and a burden. So is it any wonder what their opinion on an anime about families differ?

Well mysterious in Tomoya's point of view, but you've the rest explained well.

Sunohara in Clannad, apart from adding comedy factor, is actually a comparison of a 'good delinquent' and a 'bad delinquent' because both you and him are labeled as a delinquent. However you are actually a 'good delinquent' who begin as labeled as one but are actually a kind and smart kid. Sunohara, on the other hand, is weak, stupid, and loves bullying the weak. He's making sure us the readers don't catagory you(Tomoya) as the bad guy.

Look's so-so to me. More for fans of the game than an anime for more general audiences.

What's there to be confused about? The story is a general school life story with an emphasis on the family theme. Unless you've read spoilers, that's all there is to it. I wouldn't go into this with anything other than that as an expectation and let the flow of the story take you for a ride. And with KyoAni at the helm of the production, it'll sure be one heck of a ride.

So what's the chances one/both of the main leads dying by the end a la Air? Or a tragic ending?

Nothing wrong with drama, but I need happy endings k. Kanon I consider a happy ending and Air I don't.

k..i might sound repetitive...but..who are the actual good subbers doin this show??? Philantropy-Sekai and TH are cool..but i was hoping that Eclipse would take it up. Is there any news on it since they havent said anything in their site??? Plus..with Shakugan..can we expect Eclipse to sub CLANNAD too???

Eclipse will sub it if they can be bothered with it. Remember that they will sub roughly 2 weekly shows at a time. With Hayate no Gotoku still going, it's a bit tough to say if they will pick up both SnSII and Clannad.

So, are the girl, Nagisa, and the boy, Tomoya, living in the same reality? I mean, I had the feeling that Nagisa was only, like, a spirit, that she wasn't actually alive.

Here's a question: who here will be paying constant attention to wide screen release of CLANNAD tv? I'm not asking when it is out, but 'who' is going to care and seek the wide screen version and acquire it.

I really want to re-watch CLANNAD tv in widescreen quality too. However with my heavy schoolwork I won't have time to spend on checking out every groups periodically when they're releasing a widescreen version. So I'm simply in need of some kind people to let me know whenever they discover a widescreen release.

Just watch it and remember. I can't afford to spoil anything about this at all but remember, the phatasm world is everything to CLANNAD. Watch it, bear with them and in the end they will all come back in a great way. It is not something to please inpatient viewers. (when I first played the game I hated them, but the ending which reviewed the truth change my mind completely. They are the core which keep all the lives CLANNAD in one piece)

I seriously can't wait for the 16:9 version --- its the way Kyoani originally planned this series to be in.
