[Kanon]

This episode was freaking hilarious and awesome. Definitely the best so far.

Spoiler for 8:

• I missed the beginning of the episode, but apparently, Kanade got into a fight with her clone and got hurt. The SSS brings her to the infirmary and she's wearing some very cute pajamas.
  
• Yuri decides to take a look at Kanade's computer once again in a effort to solve this mess. She finds out about an absorb skill that will make the clone fuse with Kanade. She inputs a time delay of ten seconds for Absorb to activate after Harmonics is used (I guess Kanade didn't complete the program?), she only needs Kanade to use her harmonics skill one more time now. She also learns of a yet to be seen skill: Howling.
  
• Kanade disappears from the hospital and the SSS starts an operation to get her back.
  
• While on the way, they meet Tenshi #2, which is deliciously evil and not so moe, they manage to stall her when suddenly... ANOTHER TENSHI APPEARS! They barely manage to escape them.
  
• After this, they run into yet another Tenshi clone, Takamatsu sacrifices himself to let the others continue. Then, another clone, it 's TK's turn!! "Get and chance and luck! WOOOAAAAAAAAAAA!", epic jump only to land directly on Tenshi's sword
  
• The others eventually all suffer a similar fate one by one. I thought that whole part was hilarious but I guess some people might hate it. Naoi is such a bastard
  
• Just like in episode 2, the only survivors in the end are Yuri and Otonashi, Yui actually didn't get killed by Tenshi, but got self-owned. Aho desu ne~
  
• Tenshi #2048608 uses howling on Yuri and Otonashi, Yuri uses that opportunity to take her down. She plugged her ears. Just as planned.
  
• Otonashi finally finds Kanade. She uses her remaining strength to create one last clone for Absorb to be activated. It ends with the clones coming back into Kanade, who is suffering immensely from the recoil effect.
  
  TK was even more awesome than usual in this episode, so many great scenes. And it was entertaining to see the evil Tenshis make so many different facial expressions, but neither of them were half as moe as the original.

Fast paced action and comedy, with a bit of suspense. Very good ep, overall. Probably the best yet.

Spoiler for Ep08 summay, etc:

Ep starts where the previous one left off. SSS battle against Dark Tenshi to no avail, but then Kanade joins in and they double KO each other. They take Kanade to the infirmary, where she stays sleeping until morning.

Yuri then tries to research into Kanade's PC to try to find a way to eliminate the Harmonics clone, and she finds a book called Angel Player. Using the book, she finds out about Absorb (to absorb the clones, complete with a time delay), and Howling (sound-based ability). However, when they go back to the infirmary, they find that Kanade has been kidnapped. I didn't really get what their plan was at this time, but they all went to class with some uncanny concentration/nervousness. Anyway, afterwards, they go on to find Kanade (I think). This leads to an encounter with Dark Tenshi, and Noda get's killed right off the bat. The catch this time is that there are more Harmonics clones (they're everywhere), and as their mission continues they all get killed/sacrificed one by one until only Yuri and Otonashi are left.

They get to the lower levels of the underground, and then they encounter another Dark Tenshi. Yuri successfully subdues her, and Otonashi finds Kanade asleep in another level below. She wakes up, summons a Harmonics clone, and then Absorb activates (time set by Yuri way back before the mission) and all the clones merge into Kanade. This gives her quite a shock as she experiences all the pain and emotions from all her clones gushing in at once.

And then, a Dark Archon is formed:

The goofing off in class happened before Kanade was abducted. It was to buy time for Yuri to gather info.

A nice episode indeed.
The pace itself was neat, and this time, the action was predominant without being jarring.

Funnily enough, when Yuri found the list of the skills, I was actually wondering "wait, if the clones get Guard Skills, what about Harmonics...?".
And when the second Tenshi showed up, it certainly matched the mood: "holy shi....!". After their escape, I basically considered the SSS stuck in a resident evil scenario

Anyway, the clones were a nice addition, and I will second Kanon's opinion: they were deliciously evil here :]
As for the suicide tactic...Well, it was expected. What I actually found funny was how the reactions were obviously forced for comedy's sake, then you got a complete silence with both Ooyama and Ayato
For one, I would say the comedy wasn't too disruptive for the franchise and worked well.

Also, glad to see more of Yuri's awesome combat skills and actually good enough for that.
That and some good "sensitive points" from Hinata and Yuri regarding Yuzuru and Kanade, though I still think it is by no mean "romantic", be it one or another.

I was like "WTF" when Yuri went blade to blade in the first fight because she was collapsed from exhaustion. And I was expecting an elegant Kanade vs Tenshi fight rather than just a simultaneous stab. (damn I wonder how epic will these fights be if they were beam blades.)

I just want to know what the last clone said to Otonashi before Absorb kicked in. Apparently, it wasn't something very pleasant.

So what exactly is Angel Player? Based on the instruction manual that Yuri found in Kanade's room, it may be a game.

And do they explain why the clones kidnapped Kanade in the first place?

I think the clone was saying "we were born from one consciousness. It's not like we are all independant and separate. When we return back to one, she (kanade) will feel all of our pain (from the other dead clone Tenshis). Do you really think she'll be ok after this?" (or something like that if my JP knowledge is good enough)

Absorb must hurt a lot for some who won't flinch when shot is the gut to scream like that.

One thing that was massively interesting for me was the angel player guide was written entirely in English. Why would Tenshi know English, perhaps she's actually an English Otaku who named herself Tenshi Kanade when she entered the afterlife. o_o (Otakus worldwide swoon)

that's what i was thinking too, the moment yuri started working on changing her skills i already suspected that the original tenshi's consciousness will get overwritten or something like that.

I think the clone was talking about the total number of 30 minds being absorbed at once would cause one hell of a mind rape. Which still isn't any better I'm sure.

...It would be much better for everyone to wait for actual translations, instead of unreliable "japanese through anime knowledge".
And to be honest, unless it was mentioned in a very quick way, I have no idea how you could get that number.
