Asked by a 13 or 14 year old student my lab's open day, whilst I was giving a talk to a group of students. That question stopped me right in my tracks, as I couldn't quite believe that a 13 year old wouldn't know . His teacher seemed pretty annoyed though. In retrospect I guess I should've given him the scientific definition of the metre:

The distance traveled by light in free space in 1⁄299,792,458 of a second.

Not really. It just some people don't like DBZ since it a story of Heroes beat up bad guy, new bad guy comes and beats the crap outta Heroes, Heroes gets powered up and beats new bad guy and it repeats again with more bad guys. Not everyone is fan of Action Shonen anime/manga.

someone in my class did his English presentation about Stephen King and there were seriously people (around 20 years old) who had never heard of the guy O.O;

The news int his country speaks as if the crisis is a disease of some kind, it cracks me up. Another company was infected by the crisis and has to be cured!

Yesterday evening on some sex education program where youngsters were allowed to ask questions and they listed up some of the myths, you can't get pregnant if you stand while having sex or if it is your first time and the reuse of a condom if you wash it, I lol'd so hard

You'd be amazed to know how many people believe this. You go check the internet you'll find tons of pages about it, it seems like almost any forum has its own thread about aids being a myth.
That's not the only theory that despite being completely wacky has many strong followers, i could name a few others:

"The smurfs show was communist propaganda" <- gotta love this

"Paul McCartney died long time ago, even before John Lennon"

"The Earth is flat"

"The holocaust never happened"

"Elvis Presley is alive"

"The Illuminati rule the world"
