I would assume with only 12 episodes they want to focus on just the main characters. They must have a target plot point they want to reach by ep12, so I guess they had to skim through this arc.
I thought it still went well being told this way -- the old guard are making way for new Wolves. |

I think Monarch went down a bit too easily for a boss, even against 3 wolves. I was expecting Sen to lose.
@Tenchi: Lol, I bet most of us will be like, "Damn, Ume is back and it was getting good too!" xD

So that's what the God of Discounts meant when she said it was her fault. Cheap trick by Endo to beat her up before she got to the store. Nice triple team to take him out though. Shaga on the bike was great. Oh man Oshiroi's recap was hilarious. Wonder how she got the bento this week, probably in the same way though.

I like this kind of episode. I think this is a case where the more they take it seriously the funnier it becomes. And I think it's perfectly appropriate for the Monarch to lose soundly. Going by the show's logic (which is hilarious logic), he lost the moment he started fighting for glory instead of for dinner. Having him actually be strong would kill the joke.

Episode 06
Ah, Monarch..... if you thought starving yourself for 3 days would give you an edge, you will never be able to beat 3 people at once who need a dinner for the night
Awesome footwork by Sen-chan, I honestly saw her ripped pantyhose coming but I didn't want to believe it but, I'm still a little perplexed, why is she the Ice Witch... perhaps that cold tone of her voice... the silver hair... or that icy stare that seems to freeze me solid in more ways than one But yeah, like the King, I'm not buying it how Ayame could have lost to Satou. Eh, maybe it's because she wasn't wearing her super effective school uniform. Or maybe that thing I said earlier about these girls' kicks being more powerful than their punches comes into play But looks like Satou grabbing Oshiroi's tail is going to be a recurring gag. But that's not fair! Grabbing a girl's hair like that surely hurts, RAWR violence where the UmeUme haters now *runs* Quote:
You're not the Ero King! Who are you? What have you done to him? Quote:

There are also other reaons why Ayame could have lost, like her having a soft spot for Satou. |

As far as Ayame, I think its just that Satou is probably better than her now, or at least close enough to her level where he can beat her. I also like that its established they can duke it out, but in the end she still loves him without any hard feelings. Satou, you seriously need to hit that.

But perhaps it's her winning strategy! Lose, grab instant noodles, and then mooch off Satou's grub. |

By the way, this month is voting time for the 2011 Seiyuu Awards, and I think Yuuki Aoi is showing us the best supporting performance of the year here. The link goes to the main Seiyuu Awards page. Click "English" to vote for the overseas choice award. If you can read Japanese, you can find your way to the full voting page.

I agree with Tenchi Ryu, in a way it's true that Monarch got beat too easily but I suppose he really is more of a mid-boss, and him being an underhanded wolf is what got him beat. He fought pretty good against two wolves and Sato too. Really, that 3vs1 fight was just great to look at, great action scenes, and it really seem busy and hectic as befitting for a battle royale. The episode ends on a heartwarming note too, though I wonder what exactly is it that gives you the right to call yourself a wolf anyway? Satou seem to be strong enough anyway, maybe he just need time to build up the recognition?
Oh, and I won't lie, not having Ume for 2 episodes feel great, although it seem she's returning next ep? I'll be generous and give her another chance to impress me, otherwise there's that handy skip button. Also, is the anime really all that different from the LN? I'm glad I haven't read it yet then, as I feel the anime did a damn good job on its own anyway, so if it pales in comparison, that can only mean that the LN is even a greater read if (when!) it's translated.
