As to why the Wulgaru fleets stopped if you are wondering remember their soldiers are biological robots.

Theoria is of the royal bloodline and likely has authority over them.

I like how the king is just there sitting and watching all the action from somewhere, then all we get from him when theoria shows herself is an eye twitch

looks like the gate will be destroyed but somebody will die.

Agreed. I'm not sure who it'll be - It could be Simon, Izuru, Teoria, or some combination thereof, or maybe even somebody else - But I definitely think someone's going to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to take down that gate.

Episode 23 was very intense, and definitely a great treat for the eyes, but I'm ready for the conclusion. It's time to wrap things up.

Chandra's "Tally-ho" was well done. It came when it was needed the most. Doberman has arrived to turn the tides!

Still calling that Izuru will sacrifice himself and red 5 to destroy the gate and there will be an open ending on whether Izuru is still alive or not to be used as a plot point for a potential season 2.

Wild Speculation: The King sent all those he thought were his potential foes, to the other side of the gate, and elected not to countermand Theoria's orders, so that all the potential traitors in his court would be sent to their deaths in this battle. Including his brother.

When I heard him say that I immidietely recaled certain blond officer who likes flirt with girls and want have just easygoing life. And guess what? It's same voice actor. So I think it's more of casting joke than Death flag.

PS: I am refering about Oreldo from Pumpkin Scissors.

It's possible. We can see the mech is still activated so someone is still piloting it. Also, the gate is still there as we can see it in the background. I can see Izuru at this point having been trashed and his health is already in decline takes Red 5 and uses it to blow up the gate, being the hero of mankind, just as he always wanted.

Nothing says hero more than willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I don't know, generally when some death flag is obvious is just for deceive us. But in a war some deaths are inevitable, let'see what will happen

All this nonstop talk of death flags and people wonder why I rarely watch anime as it is airing.

Anyway, finally watched the new ep, amazing, just not amazing enough to debunk the issues I have with it.

Reminded me of someone from Legend of the Galactic Heroes' long-running death flag "My life long dream is to spend the rest of my old age pension" yada yada.
