When's based Quetzalcoatl going to appear? You should read up the Aztec lore on him, he's actually a fucking awesome god. Now he has legendary tits to add to his repertoire XD

This is fun, watching a perverted dragon maid who can bring forth Armageddon but can't clean clothes properly and rather licked them clean herself because she is so much in love with Kobayashi. xD
Makes me wonder if later the show will be Yuri, Kobayashi seems very anti-romantic right now whenever it is with the same or the other sex.

Depending on whether she's right about her saliva, she may have cleaned the clothes very well indeed. It just looks disgusting.

Tohru, she could rule the world but prefers to become a domestic helper. Last remaining ambition for outside the house? Serve as substitute for public transportation - ease Kobayashi's daily commute. Declined. Too uncomfortable. Too conspicuous.and [...on the topic of perverts...] they can't ride the women only carriage together either. Not with that tail. Easily overlooked? Seems rather fitting Kyoani picked this to adapt. In their universe Lesbians are mythical creatures - might as well be dragons. That way you can always pretend they don't really exist. But we get a peek into their bedroom and make fun of them. Rejoice. Sound! the last trumpet. Unleash armageddon. This is fun. Seriously. Curious to see where this might be going. Along for the ride... and one more edit, for the

To be fair I don't know if I would want my clothes cleaned like that, no matter the effectiveness of the end result.

I guess it would be a helpful option if lost in the wilderness or something, though.

I'm hoping they maintain this pace of 4 chapters an episode for most of the series run. This adaptation has the distinct advantage of being able to allow events to flow together more naturally that came off as random and disconnected in the manga with rarely a sense of chapter to chapter flow to them prior to the introduction of a certain character a number of chapters in.

Episode 2 appears to cover chapters 5, 6, 7, and 9 based on preview images. One of my biggest fears coming in was they would try to stretch out these for the most part 12 page bite size chapters (some chapters are double length at around 27ish pages) by only covering 2 – 3 of them per episode. Thankfully that didn't turn out to be the case.

7 equally-priced volumes of Maid Dragon mean the equivalent of 14 episodes (and at least 1 OVA)

Spoiler for Staff for Upcoming Episodes:

Watched episode 1... and I was quite entertained by this anime. Tohru is cute and funny. Had a good laugh at the egg joke. I remember Fafnir from a storybook that my mom bought me years ago, so I have an idea why he wants to kill people who steal his treasure.

Anyway, there just a tiny bit of serious at the end part the episode where Tohru is fighting with the soldiers and old man.. I hope this series does not turn grim later.

Well, there's occasionally some serious parts in the manga. Mostly it's fairly brief. I wouldn't say it ever gets "grim". The overall tone is not that different to what we see in episode 1.

Whereas I remember Fafnir from Highschool DxD, who mostly wants to sniff panties. That was quite a contrast, let me tell you.

Kanna is so VERY cute in episode 2. I want to hug her and feed her candy and ice cream.

Episode 2:

Looks like Kobayashi is starting to get used to her lifestyle with Tooru now. I like their character chemistry still even though it feels kinda strange.

Glad to see Kanna make her official appearance (she made a cameo before from what I remember from the first episode. Quite a cute character imo. The rivalry she has with Tooru is also quite noticeable. I thought Kyoto Animation did a decent job animating their brief "fight".

Kanna is so damn cute.

I still find Kobayashi's interactions with Tooru kind of weird, they're now used to each other now.

Kanna was a nice adittion this episode that introduced a different mechanic, anyway pretty quiet episode.

This was pretty nice. However, I have to point out that someone forgot to draw Kanna's horns for the latter part of the episode during the outdoor lesson on common sense.

Ep 02

Ayup ... Kanna is my favorite in the source manga and I thought how they presented her here was also quite good. And that sequence at the end with the see-saw is JUST the sort of humor I love out of this series.

This one is a keeper. Followed. ^^

The grass field that Kanna and Tohru played in will become a recuring setting.

But in the manga we were never told where it actually is.

The anime, however, added a new clue; during the word games, a butterfly flew through the shot. And it is extremely distinctive and regional. It is an Owl butterfly. A butterfly with fake owl eye patterns, which it uses to scare away prey when it rests on a tree.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owl_butterfly
The insect is only native to Central and South America. So it is now official that Tohru took the gang to the other side of the planet and on some mountain grass lands,

I really like this manga and am happy with the anime version. The folks behind the anime seem to understand the charm of the manga. Although there are a few laugh-out-loud moments, mostly the short stories are just charming.

Ahhhh, I'm digging this show. The vibes are fantastic. Those dragons' version of playing is very scary.

Kanna-chan's all-out murderous assault on Kobayashi-san at their first meeting had me giggling uncontrollably.

I'm gaining a lot of pleasure from this series although it was not one I had actually expected to enjoy given the basic scenario. The direction is being handled well too and the animation, although basic is not cutting corners. The BG music is a bit distracting and off-putting though.
