It needs to happen in 2011. It can easily run a 52 episode series with little to no filler at this point. It is as text heavy as Medaka so it should manage to fill a lot of time up. Plus by that time it would have close to 3 1/2 years worth of material waiting to be animated at least.

Chapter 13, I think, when Medaka was able to stand of a floatie in the middle of the school pool. That's when it started going into the weirder stuff, though that was mild compared to all the new things that are suddenly popping up out of nowhere.

So it turns out that Medaka can't actually use each abnormality better than the person she copies. It is amazing that she is only pulling 20% with each ability. She might correct the flaws in it but she still doesn't use it to the max capacity as the original abnormal.

Miyakonojou's 2nd ability is something I wasn't expecting. Having the ability to steal other peoples' abnormalities like that reminds me of Sylar. Only he is going after hearts and not brains lol. So I wonder if Koga will remain normal after this or will she get her abnormality back later. Nice to see Kujira realize whats important to her and gaining a heart again. A shame her hypothesis had to be proved right via her best friend getting a hand through her back.

Also Perses mode makes a return. Looks like Medaka really couldn't hold back against him using Koga's abnormality. That is nice to know since we all were thinking she beat him too easily.

This was a great chapter. I'm glad it got out of the bottom 5.

Well, that's a bit of relief. It's like Morph from the X-Men cartoon. He could copy people's powers, but couldn't them as effectively. If Medaka could use them better, then it would make every other character pretty much pointless. But what's with all these people stealing everyone else power all of a sudden. >< That's annoying.

Just one question... how does him stealing her power verify that it's the personality that controls an abnormality?

Meh, I'm just glad that the Flask Plan assault part is over. It went on for 3/4ths of a year and got really long in the tooth for my tastes.

It will probably just be Miyakonojou and Medaka. Two of the top abnormals shown so far with one only managing to steal an abnormality if he actually can get to their heart and the other only being able to use the abnormality to at 20%.

If we get several more people with similar potential then yeah it will probably be pushing it. So far the execution between the two of them isn't exactly the same so its interesting enough.

In fact, it's not until the next chapter when Maguro and Kujira finally piece together the true nature of Medaka's abnormality.

Don't worry too much about her having no competition from now on though. The latest chapter (Chapter 59) has shed some light on the negative abnormals who Maguro is touting as Medaka's natural enemy. Basically, they are abnormals who have perfected their abnormalities but with a negative slant. So much so that they are practically pointless (and when I mean pointless, I mean abilities that have no benefit whatsoever to humanity and would be better off not existing). He gave Munakata as an example:

"What if Medaka had copied and perfected his killing impulse abnormality?"

The end result is she'd be nothing more than a textbook psycho killer who can't help herself from killing. He also stated that it's only thanks to Munakata's personal fortitude and sincere desire not to kill living beings that he didn't let his abnormality take it's natural course and become a negative abnormal. (Zen's presence was apparently the reason why Medaka just stopped at the point of copying Munakata's hidden weapons skill)

So the abnormalities of these negative abnormals are like toxic to Medaka.

Well, that makes the villains fine... but it makes all the other heroes worthless. Kikaijima, Akune and especially Zen would basically just be sideline characters watching the overpowered characters fighting it out. That's my biggest fear. Of course, I'll probably never be satisfied with the series until Zen stops playing the part of Medaka's lackey. I hate lackey protagonists, I really do. One of the reasons why I can't stand SWOT.

I can accept that. When the series jumps out it normally lands in that 7-10 spot. Except that wonder week where it got 6th. I'm anxious to see if Kumagawa makes an impact or not.

Sket's been in the top* 5 recently. This makes me extremely happy since it is at least getting the lead color and not just a regular color page like they did to some other series in the past.

Oh, I wasn't worried about her having no competition. It was more that Miyakonojou was beaten so fast but considering she already beat the strongest member(Takachiho) without Perses mode, it wasn't so bad that she beat Miyakonojou+Koga's abnormality with Perses mode+her true abnormal skills. Haha 120%. I guess that is why it looked like she was sparkling at one point lol.

The next part interests me way more though. So Munakata could have become a negative abnormal and her side kick was the reason for filtering out the negative influences. This is fascinating because it was said it seemed like the 13 Party was a group of individuals that had things that Medaka was missing but now they were all gathered in one spot and helped to make her grow and be more complete. In contrast, these negative abnormals are nothing but toxic for Medaka and constitute things that she has no need for. So unless she finds a way to filter out what she takes in on her own, she can't fight any of these people without Zenkichi around otherwise she will essentially be poisoning herself.

Quite an interesting turn of events. I like where Nishio is going with this. Especially since this group has mastered their abnormalities and he has created a penalty of sorts for Medaka's abnormality copying them. It should make her fight with Kumagawa more interesting. It always is yeah. Almost every time having the context the events are happening in makes everything better. Especially with a series like this where the words are just as important as the pretty pictures. Which I say constantly to some people.

The toxic thing is just something I came up with myself to describe it (might not have been that accurate an analogy on hindsight). Nowhere did Maguro say it would hurt/kill her to copy these abilities, aside from hinting that it could be detrimental to her at least psychologically. (like in the case of Munakata's killing impulse)

What he really meant by them being Medaka's natural enemy is that these negative abnormalities are already so harmful that they and their owners pose no benefit at all to human society. If Medaka happens to copy and further perfects them, they could be looking at the development of something on the level of a human pandemic. (this has caused a handicap for her since she can't copy/perfect them without running the risk of inadvertantly unleashing something horrendous)

Another thing of interest that was also revealed in this chapter, is that to these Negative people...there's just something about Zenikichi. Unlike Medaka who naturally disgusts Negatives, Zen is the exact opposite in that he has qualities that they all naturally like and are drawn to.
