Title of the OP has been confirmed as "COSMOS vs ALIEN". No ED title yet, but that alone is cause for pondering. Shaft's OPs always have their distinctive style. Maybe Bridge x 2 won't be as pastel-colored as the first season's OP, but I expect it to be just as weird.

The song "COSMOS vs ALIEN" was performed by Etsuko Yakushimaru like the first season ?

Wow, so awesome. Personally prefer first seasons OP, though this satisfies me plenty.

Oh how i've missed this show.

All in all it was a very funny episode. They introduced the Amazon-ish character, although it did not play any relevant role, disappearing forever after her first appearance.

One thing I noticed is that there were a few very nicely animated scenes, way above Arakawa's standards. Might've been because this was the first episode, but the race scene had some very nice looking stuff, indeed.

As for the new OP, I'm loving it. So colorful and there's so much going on at the same time. Shame there was no ED this week, since I was looking forward to the new Suneohair song.

Oh well, anyway, it's back, and it's as funny as always, for those of us who enjoyed the characters. I'm enjoying this season, seeing as both this and Tegami Bachi made their return!

It's back!! The new opening is amazing, and even though I haven't watched the episode yet, it's easy to see that the budget has increased.

I agree. I also prefer the first seasons OP. Nothing beats Venus to Jesus.

I missed it as well! Glad it's finally back.

YAY! We're back under the bridge!

I read the manga version of the first segment. Even still, it was almost like I was seeing it unfold for the first time.

The staff is SO GODDAMN PROFICIENT at it's timing of the gags and humor.

Only thing that bothers me is that I have so much trouble understanding Stella when she speaks in UBER Hiroshima ben.

Yu Kobayashi is gonna be AWESOME as the Amazoness.

Not much else to say, everything is in tip top shape.

P.S., Cosmos vs. Aliens > Venus and Jesus

P.P.S. Nino looked so cute in all her weird outfits in the OP

God, this show is still amazing, I'm so glad it's back.

I can't comprehend how it does it, but amidst all the crazy, oddball, wacked out humor the show still has the strength to stick to a plot and take its characters seriously. From the get go the show could do without it; keep all the humor in there, laugh it up at all the weirdness, and you're good. The humor is genuinely funny too, the side bet cart bit here had me laughing pretty hard, and P-Ko running away after her 'Kappa Tomatoes' had been discovered had me in tears.

And yet IN SPITE of all this we're given this beautiful glimpse into the notion that Nino is more then a bit of comedic filler, but an individual whose past is beginning to unravel in front of her eyes and our own. The mere thought of her being developed as a character makes me insanely happy, it just adds more heart, warmth, soul, and charm to a show that already had me smiling.

That's a pretty fucking amazing.

Feels quite similar to the first season, which isn't too surprising as they were so close together. Lots of screwball comedy with all the favorite weirdos.

Spoiler for Episode 1:

Great start to the season. The scene before the OP was interesting. It may be some clue to her past. The OP was funny as always, but I like the first one a lot better. Lol @ Nino throwing Ric into a dresser in her sleep. Stella and Co. running the betting cart was also pretty funny. The Hoshi/Ric rivalry was funny as always. The new character seems just as crazy as the rest of them. Whitey and the mayor cracked me up this episode due to their insane speed. I loved the mario pun they put in there when Hoshi's mask turned into a starman. Overall just a great episode. It's been a few months, but it doesn't seem like time passed at all.

I missed this show and its wonderful cast so much. This second season is off to a great start. The new OP is great and perfectly fits the series but I like the first one a lot better too. Call me crazy but for a second, I truly thought Nino and Ric were going to start living together. I guess I'm not used to the gags anymore, which actually made them even funnier. I spend most of the time laughing while watching this episode.

The marathon was great. This time though, I saw the ending coming a mile away but it was hilarious. It doesn't matter who finished first anyway, the true winner in my heart is Sister.

Can't wait to see more of the Amazoness next episode.

I'm actually kinda disappointed that they didn't have the first ending. I really liked the tidbit of it in the trailer. But then again it seems like a lot of this season's first episodes didn't have endings...or it could just be the ones I watched.
