I'd guess that Savita would like to have a word with those idiots, if she was still alive.

At this rate I'm gonna end up taking part in it.

I like how the clause is so vague that it basically amounts to "We promise to address any petition that reaches 25,000 signatures... except for when we don't feel like it, lol"

They didn't watch fate/zero enough.

and anyway, if I read correctly, they knew beforehand the child was going to die, they simply didn't do abortion because it was against the law (?).

They weren't trying to save anyone. They knew the fetus was a lost cause.

Breaking news story of the day

(actually it's a pretty minor story but I have to write something to satisfy the 10 character limit)

Cop Cites Toddler For Trying To Pee

November 7, 2012 by Sam Rolley

Boys will be boys, and cops will be cops.

A 3-year-old in Piedmont, Okla., earned his mom a $2,500 fine for unzipping his pants and attempting to urinate in his own front yard. Before the reportedly still potty-training tyke got down to business, a police officer stopped him and informed his mother that the child’s impromptu bathroom break would cost her.

“Dillan pulled down his pants to pee outside, I guess and the cop pulled up and asked for my license and told me he was going to give me a ticket for public urination,” the boy’s mother, Ashley Warden told Oklahoma’s News9.

I seem to remember being young and getting mixed messages about that sort of thing. It was alright to pee outside on a tree when we were camping, but if we did that to a tree while playing outside, we got in trouble.

I believe your front yard still falls under laws that pertain to public places. Cop was still a dick though.

I remember seeing an episode of the dukes of hazzard where the bad police officer from a nearby county put a ticket to his own daughter for driving her toy car without a license. But $2500 to a 3 year old just takes the cake O_o

Russia's Putin signs law extending definition of treason
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8AD0MN20121114
So now ''doing something than the Kremlin don't like'' might simply be considered as treason.

Certainly, but when you are in single digits, you know nothing of that. A tree is a tree and all that.

Oh yea, I heard about this awhile back, apparently the home in question was located all the way at the end of the road, sitting on 4(iirc) acres of land by itself. It's pretty obvious the cop who wrote the ticket had a bone to pick with that family - the report I heard says that the location was such that the cop couldn't actually see much of anything other than just that house when parked there. When asked what he's doing, the gist of his reply was that it's a public road, he can park there for as long as he wants.

The thing is these petitions literally have no standing. Attempts to secede should go through each state's decision-making process (which varies state by state).

These are just a bunch of whining three year olds having a temper tantrum ... and its not even a good one, just five seconds of signing something.

Oh, I know; I'm not defending the petitions (I would be against them if I thought there was any real risk of tearing apart the country, but as is I appreciate them for the entertainment value). I just thought it was funny what the stuffy legalese translated to.

Right now, I'm watching *some* of my relatives go through rage denial, including attending meetings where they think these petitions are serious. More "reality distortion bubbles". As long as they consciously ignore data that doesn't fit their ideology - its going to be a sad clown parade.

Well with the Israel-Palestine situation flaring up again, Irondome is busy.
