According to the webmistress, the anime hasn't been picked up by any North American company, nor did I read anything about it in the AnimeOnDVD licensing lists. Viz licensed the manga version, though, and released it under the title "Sensual Phrase". I heard good things about series...there seems to be a dearth of unlicensed non-magical-girl shoujo anime available for download these days... Hope that helps, nikita! P.S. "LOVE MELODY"!? Nice HK-DVD-esque translation O_o;;; I heard that bootleg versions of Fruits Basket (or was it fansubs? I don't remember) have "Illusory Angel" (or something similar) as the title... |

I've seen about 20 episodes of Kaikan Phrase anime. Almost none of it had to do with the manga. Rather than focus on the drama of Sakuya and Aine (the two of them hadn't even met until one of the later eps) it was about the band (Lucifer) trying to get started up in the Japanese music industry. There was a lot of time spent on each band member's backstory (though some things about Sakuya were kept shadowy).
I thought it was an OK yarn but it was tough having to hear the same couple of songs over and over in little bits. Even then I liked it better than what I have read of the manga, which is just so over-the-top with the evil schemes and so on... |

Kaikan Phrase eps. 25-44???
Yes, Kaikan Phrase the manga is licensed, but not the anime.
Also, Itsuka Anime released eps. 1-24 on animesuki. But they will not be releasing the remaining episodes. Simply because they never did them. Rather, Vortex Anime and Hitokiri's Fansub Haven finished eps. 25-44. However, I don't believe they will will be releasing them on animesuki, at least Hitokiri's Fansub Haven won't. I emailed them to ask them about it and this is the reply I got: The fansub distribution I have is a vhs only and my projects are only traditionally subbed. I personally won't be digitally releasing any fansubs. I don't know what Vortex fansubs will do, but as far as I know they don't have plans for an on-line release either. Sorry... So, if you are patiently waiting for the rest of the series, you will be waiting for a LONG time because it won't be released (more than likely). But if you are like me and want to finish the series, visit Hitokiri's Fansub Haven at: http://www.hitokirihaven.com/ |

Vortex Fansubs website. Vortex is releasing on homebrew DVDs, that should be good enough for anyone. After taking the time to cook them up they shouldn't be expected to compress them into something that won't look or sound as good.
And it looks like the whole thread should go over into Fansubs - there is no thread for this unlicensed series just now, and it's not like the show isn't fansubbed. Last edited by babbito2k; 2004-05-12 at 19:08. |

Itsuka-Anime most likely didn't release episodes 1-24 on AnimeSuki either. It is most likely
someone else who captured their VHS fansubs, and then someone else who took those captures and put them on BitTorrent. However since they were originally fansubbed by Itsuka-Anime, we still credit them for it. In the same way the rest of the episodes may still appear on BitTorrent one day, assuming someone has the VHS tapes, is willing to capture them and put them on BT, and assuming the original fansub groups don't mind them being digitized. |

You are correct, no one that had any connection to the Itsuka Kaikan project had anything to do with the eps that showed up on bt. Nor did I have any knowledge about this, or in anyway approve of it as far as I know. The project wasnt dropped, it instead just sort of died. There were 5 of us originally, most of which I havent been in contact with in years.
Wondering what ever happened to the rest of the project crew. |
