all you really need is just the anime, the others are spinoffs/alternate timelines which can be ignored because, well, they didnt appear or get referenced in the main one.

the movie could be though, I heard that the first two are the anime series while the 3rd is a continuation.

and the latest vol for "the different story" was sad.

NOOOOO!!!
my fave character D:

NGC 6357 – The "Ultimate Madoka Nebula"

Wouldn't it be awesome if they actually decided to use that as official name from now on?

The comments for that petition read like some crazy religious cult.

Hilarious, but I signed it anyway.

Both are, but I think they're made through different filters. Plus, the first photo was made on the ground, while the other was made by the HST.

I don't think Madoka is a good choice of name for a celestial object. At least when it comes to taking names from fictional characters. "Madoka" kinda sounds well... bland, considering that Madoka is just her regular, everyday name. I'd be more inclined to agree if she had a cooler title or something. And we have enough bland nebula names already, thanks to all those Messier X objects. And anyway, there's quite a few unrelated characters named Madoka, even though this one is probably the most well-known (like the girl from Rinne no Lagrange, as a somewhat recent example) . Hell, Ultraman Tiga has "Madoka" as part of his human name, and he has more association with nebulae.

And "Madokami" doesn't sound very good either. Do Japanese fans even use that name?

Just now found out about her, but boy, it's pretty blatant just who vocaloid "Mayu" is really supposed to be, isn't it??

No...?

She barely looks like Charlotte, or someone holding Charlotte. But it's not blatant in any way, coincidental if anything.

Mami w/QB, oui? Got prize? More than suspicious. The Mayu song intro of "Double Suicide" on YouTube almost looks SHAFT motif.

Eh, I say she looks more like Princess of the Crystal than Mami. She looks hardly anything like Mami. The hairstyle is absolutely unlike Mami, the outfit lacks a corset, the ribbons aren't the same, and well...

Quote:
  • As previously stated, she holds an axe, which is to show her yandere influence.
  • The rabbit doll she holds has a microphone at the top of its head. When she holds it up to sing, she grabs it by the neck, as if she were strangling it.
doesn't really sound like Mami. I think you'd have about as much of a case, or better arguing that He-Man/Prince Adam is Conan the Barbarian and well, Conan Properties Inc. actually lost that case.

Perhaps Mami influenced the character, but pretty much any character carries influence from something else, and it's not blatantly obvious like say, Shary Bobbins.

It seems the tables have turned, now Kamen Rider has Madoka elements, In Kamen Rider Wizard the second rider Kamen Rider Beast, has to absorb the energy of Phantoms or he'll die, so he's left in a similar problem to Madoka's magical girls, and oddly enough he's a bit like Kyoko, especially the homeless and always eating part. He has a similar competitive relationship with Wizard that Kyoko and Sayaka had at first

I think you guys'll enjoy these. Here's my first video from my KawaKon2013 Madoka panel.

You know personally I think that Homura is Keanu Reeves and the real protagonist. So I made this video too for the video contest and my panel. And I didn't even place.

Wasn't the whole "must keep defeating enemies or something bad happens" already part of Kamen Rider back in Ryuki, as in the one Madoka is real similar to? The Ryuki Riders couldn't stop fighting once they contract, or else their own monster(s) get mad at them and might do something horrible.

Plus, Ryuki also had a "homeless and always eating" guy, Ouja/Asakura. Well, not always eating, but the show tended to emphasize how he eats.

I only saw clips of Ryuki myself but I still prefer Dragon Knight to Ryuki as it gets its themes across better. YMMV of course.
