He was 95 though, and he holds the record for being the oldest man in space. At the time he was 77; I doubt he'll have much competition for that distinction anytime soon. I should be so lucky as to live another 28 years.

If you've never watched The Right Stuff, I suggest giving it a look. It's in my top-tier of movies. Glenn is depicted (I believe accurately) as a guy with a stick up his ass, but when he was forced to choose between LBJ and his wife with a stutter, he chose his wife.

I guess I'm about to have a look at it soon. Meanwhile, I found this video from the Youtube channel named "HD Film Tributes"; Bill Conti sets the tone very well there before I'll fully watch it.
