hahahah, i almost forget that valvrave episode 9 will come out today. I was discussing about the ending of oreimo volume 12 novel. It left us with a big heh!!! ending.

Cant wait for episode 9 to be translated of valvrave. What is that with saki? if it is true?????? please no gundam seed stuff, please!!!!!!!!

First half:

Spoiler:

(sorry, came late to the party and ended up missing a few scenes...probably)
- Raizou prays at a ruined portion of the academy grounds
- Oh, so L-Elf and Haruto are sharing a dorm room (and he's sleeping on top *cough*)
- Haruto gets into vampire-hunger trance but gets sucker-punched by L-Elf before he can sink his teeth into his teammate's jugular
- Inside Unit 1's cockpit, OS-tan displays a new comment
- OP rolls in
- Both Valvraves are used to make course corrections for the drifting Module 77
- Meanwhile, some students gear up for potential armed combat, coached by L-Elf
- Alarm sounds
- Raizou seems to have been caught in some sort of instantly-hardening goo (an antitheft NLW?), next to the golden Valvrave
- Kyuuma has a chat with L-Elf then trains again (assembling/maintaining an assault rifle with a chronometer) for a possible fight with Dorssia
- Both Haruto and Shouko, worried about Kyuuma, spy on him from nearby bushes
- Another alarm, this one a genuine one
- Dorssia bombards Module 77, but there is some sort of beam shield protecting the glass canopy (think Shinkirou's roving beam shield)
- Kyuuma goes Millennium Falcon gunner (the colony has machine gun turrets), gunning down Waffen
- Valvraves move out, and Cain orders the Waffen to retreat. Guess who still flies forward despite this being an obvious trap? Yep, you've guessed it right

Second half:

Spoiler:

- M77 crew follows the Valvraves' departure from the command room
- Shouko forces food into L-Elf's mouth (since he was turning her offer down)
- Obvious trap is sprung and colony bombardment resumes (a second fleet was loitering nearby, it seems), with the Valvraves out of range
- Valvraves are now being preoccupied by Ideals, and suddenly power goes out in M77
- Kyuuma almost gets vaporized by enemy fire, but evacuates in time
- Raizou (who was imprisoned for trying to get inside the golden Valvrave) escapes from his prison and tries (AGAIN) to get into a Valvrave, beating Kyuuma to the punch (literally!)
- Both boys have a predictable "my guts are thicker than yours" battle of words; Kyuuma knocks out Raizou
- Guess who gets a Valvrave in this episode? It's not Raizou...
- Blue Valvrave uses its shields to protect Module 77 from a new bombardment
- Oh, so it has the much-maligned "Freedom spam" capabilities, even giving the Ideals a run for their money
- GUESS WHO ELSE GETS A VALVRAVE IN THIS EPISODE?
- So, yep, Raizou ends up saving Kyuuma from a second team of Ideals
- Golden Valvrave's big arms can split into multiple arms (think Shiva/Vishnu)
- Second Dorssia fleet commander freaks out, orders to fire some giant particle cannon on his ship, at Kyuuma, who blocks it after Newtype-ghost-Aina appears in front of him
- Remember 00, when Goodman got vaporized while trying to flee his about-to-be-particle-shot bridge? The Dorssia commander suffers the same fate
- Kriemhild once again gets suspicious about Cain
- All Valvraves return; Haruto is furious with L-Elf about the creation of new VVV pilots, but Kyuuma stops him
- Long-haired doctor is once again musing in front of the unfinished Valvraves, when L-Elf gets into an armed standoff with him (looks like the doctor has some history)
- Yep, he knows more about the Valvs than he lets on
- ED (new one? can't remember) rolls in.

EDIT: eh? I missed the preview? Uh...

What can I say? Pretty good episode. Revelation at the end was not anything new though, in my opinion.

Spoiler for Episode 9:

This is another great episode, I'm happy that Haruto is returning with Shouko and they spend a good time here. The beginning shows a memoriam of Aina's biting dust (=death) and it was also told from the gorgeous teacher with ample chest, Rion Nanami. I find it hilarious that L-Elf punch Haruto's stomach when he uses his Magius ability to bodyjack him. Not enough Saki, but Kyuuma/Thunder duo was awesome and the homemade cookies are tasty. Aina's ghostly dream allowed Kyuuma to become more powerful by time, and I like how the students learn to use the faculty as if it was a online game despite the stupidity of adolescence and it worked that they does have qualities and flaws. With the exception of L-Elf which is always invincible when it comes to prediction and spying, the other characters are somewhat realistic and I always appreciate Shouko's work. Too bad the preview won't be out this time but I'll look forward to the inevitable attempted rape nonetheless.

It's funny how it has only been one episode since Haruto and L-Elf created their alliance and they're ALREADY having disagreements. The one scene that shows them getting along with each other ends with Haruto getting punched in the gut . I can already tell that their "friendship" is going to be a rocky one.

The fact that Haruto trusted L-Elf completely is beyond me.

No preview? Well, I think that either a lot will go down or it will be a flashback episode that reveals more of L-Elf's past and motivations. I'm hoping for the latter.

Apparently VVV-tan's comment was something like "I'm hungry". So ep10 "leaked screens" and VVV-tan's comment. Put 1 and 1 together and it seems clear that there will be another vampire urge and no L-Elf to stop him this time.

I think we can assume by now that only Haruto has that problem

It seems to be tied to the VVV AI, which other Valvraves do not have.

Model Kit extra information

Spoiler:

The model kit for VVV3 says that only Haruto VVV1 has an authentic Rave engine which can go into overdrive and perform harakiri mode. All other Valvraves run on something called Rave Mirror

That's what I think too. This episode pretty much showed that the AI is the main reason. Although I think it is possible she isn't an AI at all actually or something.

Akira's the only other character getting heavy advertisement aside from the guys that already have Valraves and Shouko and L-elf, so its most likely going to be her.
