If they're solid action fans, Shana will probably irritate the hell out of them. It irritated me and I've got decent tolerance for pure romance stories.

Edit: Why did I not suggest this to begin with. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, which is pretty similar to Shana without the boring school-day parts. And a whole lot more MAXIMUM POWER.

They don't, he means that if there is any comedy or romance it must be mild and not the main focus of the show.
