well over all, good episode if you don't pay attention to the flaws. vivid green was pretty cool looking, can't wait for yellow, black and red. also is it me, or does anyone think they can't get their true full power until they get a kiss on the lips?

That seriously surprise me. I don't know that Akane is the type who likes fighting, let alone able to match a national kendo athlete in a duel. It's like the scriptwriter think "ooh, I need a little girl who is good at fighting", and then not putting much thought about how the main character should start interacting with that girl.

Of course, those weren't exactly legal kendo moves in any sense of the term, but still. Akane is athletic and has a talent for throwing things, but suddenly being able to fight on par with a kendo champion without the boost from her palette suit? That just came out of nowhere. So anyway, the Alone this week wasn't worth much. Barely even demonstrated itself to be so much as a vague threat before Akane and Wakaba docked and took it down. Really now, Akane, cheating on Aoi right in front of her, and with a girl you've just met? For shame! You should have at least invited her to join you.

We know 7 years ago Akane and her mother were about to drop a long way down. Akane's mother would have injuries from the fall, somehow surviving that, thus being hospitalized over a long period of time. Whatever happened 7 years ago could've changed Akane physically. Oh another cliche Ground Defense Force Mao-chan the new teacher is also the military leader of the girls. |

This show lives, breathes, and vomits cliches.
That's why it's fun. I wonder if Rei is a child of one of the researchers of the engine and was on site during the accident which ended up "changing" her like Akane potentially was, but unlike Akane her change wasn't so benign. It's true that Akane is un-naturally skilled for a someone who was a civilian not too long ago. Maybe there is indeed some foreshadowing after all. Still looking forward to meeting Yellow next week. |

It was certainly ridiculous. I was expecting Akane to get beaten to a pulp when she wasn't using her suit and instead she's going toe-to-toe with Wakaba. Does that suit do anything for Akane other than making her capable of flight? Seems like she's equally powerful without it.... Well the whole thing felt pretty rushed anyways. A case of "assemble the main cast as fast as humanly possible." So next episode I expect the next girl to quickly be recruited and transform to take down another random Alone that won't live long enough to actually accomplish anything. Not even going to bother asking why that thing was attacking a beach anyways, instead of you know going after the reactor that's supposed to be important.

That being said . . . Vividgreen!! <3 The beauty of her character design outshone even her X-Acto knife sword! Now if only the purple-eyed girl who seemingly is an antagonist would actually do something more than show up, shoot an arrow, narrow her eyes, and dash away I would be perfectly content. Does anyone else think she looks an awful lot like Yuuri Shijō, the management bureau head for the Manifestation Engine?

wow, did not expect a 3rd member so soon.
Don't buy Akane being able to go toe to toe with the kendo girl....has any previous episodes said she had previous experience with kendo? Or did she suddenly become a two-sword master right there.

In other news, Wakaba's transformation used different theme music than Akane and Aoi's (which both used the same theme). I wonder if that's significant in any way.
