Ummm.. Iono about the Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It's very serious, dramatic, dark, and mysterious, as far as I've seen. Not to mention the light horror element and the vampires. It's still very good IMO, it's worth the watch.

Midori no Hibi is also not bad, and the earlier episodes of Kono Minikuku Mo Utsukushii Sekai (Konomini) aren't bad either. Yumeria was pretty amusing too. Though it's not that great, something short and heartwarming is the Good Morning Call OVA, and Stellvia no Uchuu is somewhat heartwarming too.

Sorry about the brief responses. I've been trying to find series matching your description myself, and am having a hard time. Midori no Hibi has succeeded most so far in lightening my mood.
