Even though it was known beforehand, seeing the Celestial Spirits in reverse personality is still kinda fresh.

That was a very nice episode. The anime team does a great job at making you despise their villains, in a good way.

I'm not sure I like the memory loss angle. It's weird though, because they seem to know they lost the memory, and who Lucy is, but not care. Obviously it's more than just losing their memory, which makes me wonder if simply regaining their memory would solve the problems.

Looking forward to some twists like with Michelle in the KotSS arc.

Not a bad episode. Though it did get a bit annoying to have Lucy dragging Natsu down and not letting him fight back. It's not a secret how much she cares about her spirits, but this is kind of a situation where you need to fight back. You almost have to wonder if Lucy is a masochist basically volunteering to get beaten to a bloody pulp there.

Kind of funny that going bad actually does give them a power boost. Curious to see how things turn out with this. Certainly must be another big villain in the background that actually did this to the Celestial Spirits. Also a question of what has happened to the Spirit King.

Could be a decent little arc. Also basically lets them keep Yukino around even though she didn't actually join Fairy Tail.

I'm really looking forward to the next episode for two reasons:

1. I like libraries, so it's nice to see them get some attention by being a battleground. So there's that. And

2. I saw Levy.

Something else I thought was cool was how everyone was out on jobs, and it was just Mira, Kinana, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy. Would have been cool if someone attacked then.

I dont like the fillers, not in naruto, not in fairy tail, not in any shonen, so i'm gonna skip all this arc until it reach the village of the sun arc.
Dont like the new appearance of the spirits and neither their personalities(just taurus), the only thing that is bugging me is, where the f$ck is the spirit king??

I do wonder where the King is. I hope it's not like the zanpakuto arc and he's sealed away somewhere, but that's all I can think of.

I wonder where Yukino's spirits are.

Drastic climate changes.
Kinda reminds me of the real world climate changes..
The requests they got were pretty fun to watch ^^
Of course Lucy & Natsu had to get the weirdest job.
It was also the most fun to watch ^^
Guess the spirit world is in trouble this time.
There was something way off with all golden key spirits.
This story will probably take up a few episodes.

Ya know at first i thought this might be interesting but the reality is this arc is going to be massively stupid. The Spirits personalities were flipped like i mentioned a few pages back thats obvious. Somebody obviously attacked the celestial spirit world and did something to flip the golden key's powers opposite to what they are. There are only 2 good things about this arc. Masochist Virgo and Yukino other then that this is gonna be boring

Well, I for one found Chibi aquarius to be insanely cute. There's that.

Now seriously: I have a feeling that this might just be a really nice arc we're in for. Having the 12 Celestial Spirits rebel due to some sort of memory loss sounds like a great plot and just this last episode already gave Lucy more of a fighting role than the last couple of YEARS of anime together so that's a plus! (Did Mashima just forget that Lucy had that whip? It hasn't been used in ages)

I'm waiting for some sort of twist here that explains who or what made the spirits turn. I wouldn't be surprised if this were somehow tied into the closing of the Eclipse gate.

Well, considering the title of the arc is the "Eclipse Celestial Spirit" arc, and that the Eclipse Gate was explicitly mentioned in the arc's synopsis on the official website...what twist are we talking about? Unless the twist involves more than just the Eclipse Gate.

It'll be interesting to see that explained. I have an idea, but my ideas didn't hold up in the last arcs so I'm just gonna remain quiet on that for now

Ahhh .... It looks like I'm not the only one who got flashbacks to Bleach's Zanpakutō Rebellion
arc after watching this.

It'll be interesting to see how Fairy Tail handles this situation compared to Bleach.

1) All spirits can force their gates either shut or open by expending their own magic power (like how Horologium and Loke come unsummoned or Loke's time with Karen) - the only thing they can't do is not respond to a summon, since they're bound by contract...or so I think.

2) Virgo is generally weaksauce, Lucy could have dealt with her by means of Lucy kick :P Her whip really is underused though...

Their own gates yes, but Virgo shut Crux's gate close.

You have no idea how happy I am that they decided not to make Yukino totally useless in a fight without her spirits. I'd love to see Yukino kick this much ass in the manga. In fact, it seems that this arc is set on reminding us that Lucy can fight even without her spirits. Oh, and the stakes are raised, though I'd say the outcome of the arc is obvious. Unless they decide to scrap the following manga arcs entirely and settle for a new ending. Oh boy, would that be a downer...

Interesting things in the next episode preview. Obviously our next opponent is Pisces; evidently the son is some kind of fish-man, and the mother is a doting shark with lipstick. Not quite as threatening as the concept art makes her out to be, but eh. It looks like they're bringing Hisui and Arcadios back into action, just as I thought from the OP. Maybe now we'll see if she's a celestial wizard after all. I'm not sure what those keys in the next episode preview are about, though. Maybe they're Hisui's spirits, and/or loaned spirits for Lucy and Yukino to use? I mean, we have a pink mechanical bear walking around, and I know for a fact we've never seen that in the manga. Perhaps it's a new spirit, like Ursa Major/Minor? Seeing new spirits designed by Hiro is the one major thing I've hoped for with this arc.
