And I already have a few guesses that I am very certain won't be entirely off with regards to how she pulled it off too |

Really surprised with this movie. I came across a wallpaper featuring Balot and decided to give it a try without knowing it had so much eye candy (in general, not only the nudity and sex scenes featuring the lead). I was thoroughly entertained during the whole hour and waiting for Second Combustion will be painful.

I was amazed at the end of the movie, it's been a long time since I watched such a good piece like this one. I'm amazed that I've never heard of it before, seeing that this is one of Tow Ubukata works.

The first movie was definitely great. This style and story has been lacking in the anime works for the past few years.
Has there been any news on when a release date for the second bluray/DVD will be? My usual sources have not shown me anything. I hope it will not be like the first movie, which did not release the bluray/DVD until almost a year later.

No idea.
But considering the second film only aired less than a month ago and the time it took for the DVD release for the first film was over 8 months since it's airing, don't expect yourself to be watching it any time soon. =P

Oh yeah, I also managed to get Tow Ubukata to autograph my copy of the translated Mardock Scramble novel. |

The DVD/BluRays for the first Movie came out roughly three weeks before the 2nd film premiered. As such, it's safe to assume August/September range for the release of the 2nd DVD set.
Which does hurt a little, as I really wanted to see the next installment. You don't get something that says "Blade Runner meets Ghost in the Shell" to you very often, especially not when that well done. |

Well, this looked interesting and I was going to ask about it but the comments here look intriguing. Thanks all.

So I watched the trailer to "K" and my reaction was "wow, the animation is godly, who the hell are "gohands?""
That's where DemiSoda came in and told me about this film. One part of me can't believe it flew under my radar, the other is happy that I'm watching it now because I won't have to wait so long after that cliffhanger. I definatly liked it,beyond the pretty animation, what really pulled me in is that I've bought into Balot and oeufcoque's partership, they really have a nice chemistry together. also wish there was more time to defevelop that a bit more but the movie makes really good use of the time it has,I have the impression that not one line of dialogue is wasted. What I also like about the script is that every time I asked myself a question the question popped up in the movie, they weren't always answered but it sort of made me feel like I was in sync with the movie. I too thought "well that's definatly one overpowered combo" so it makes sense that there's someone else powerful too,if there wasn't there'd be no challenge. More than a "good vs bad guys" this will be about our two leads being able to come to peace with themselves, they've got a long way to go that's for sure. Watching the trial scene and Balot answer "yes" to "do you believe you are responsible to your family?" was heartbraking.

I watching the first movie right now and it's pretty awesome. I don't know why I didn't notice it before. Well, maybe it's for the better because now I don't have to wait that long for the second one.
I love the lead girl, and her interaction with that cyber mouse was really engaging. Some really interesting topics going on in their conversation too. Looking forward to the second movie. EDIT: damn, that cliffhanger. The last 10 minutes where painful to watch, but it was needed for her to grow as character. It's just natural for those who have always been oppressed and controlled by others to get power-drunk the first time they feel in control of themselves. The way this was depicted here felt extremely real. There's no doubt the bond between the two protagonists will grow a lot after this (provided neither of them kicks the bucket).

Just a quick heads-up: the Blu-ray of The Second Combustion has been released over the weekend. I believe I don't have to spell out what that means.
Time at last to brush away the dust on my synopsis notes... |
