Gundam SEED DESTINY (Phase 4 Discussion)

This is probably my last summary. See this post for reasons.

Spoiler for Phase 4 Short Summary:

- Mobile suit battles amid colony debris and asteroids. Very good fight scenes. Only those poor GuAIZs suffer.
Lunarmaria vs. Stellar, both are good in fighting.
Shinn displays the destructive power of Blast Impulse.
- After 360-degree reverse, Girty Lue tails, traps, and bombards Minerva with beam guns and missiles that hit the asteroids. Minerva sustains damages from asteroid debris and explosions. Before being bombarded, Athrun realised that it was a decoy.
- Gilbert and Taria mention about a mobile suit on board that has no pilot (supposedly be Saviour Gundam but can be a Phamtom Zaku). Athrun seems to be interested.
- Neo launches in Exas to finish off Minerva but he encouters Rey's Phantom Zaku instead.
- Minerva's Lohrengrin (that red large beam) damages Girty Lue greatly and we sees those poor engineers under explosion again. Girty Lue sends out flares to recall their mobile suit. Minerva follows suit.
- Lunarmaria shows her favour (look at her face) in Athrun when they meet at a living room along Rey, Shinn, and her sister.
- Shinn, after leaving that living room, shows depression after listening to his sister's voice from her mobile phone. His attitude toward Athrun was not good.

This episode displays good tactical battleship warfare and how Taria resolves her situation to be in upper hand again.

Spoiler for Thoughts on this episode:

As HaRoRuleZ had said, excellent fight scenes in here. I found myself on the edge of the seat as the beams and missiles criss-cross their way to try and find their targets and the explosions roll over me from the speakers. There are more scenes being reused, including the one where Abyss and Chaos join in the attack, and not to mention the ever-so-much-fun one where the engineers get blown up. Again.

Gundam pilots, whether EA's or ZAFT's, are, I've noticed, a lot like those poor Empire stormtroopers. The generic ones die really fast. I don't, though, see Lunamaria being that good of a pilot, though; she seemed to really struggle against Stella's Gaia. A part of it might be the difference between the two mecha, but Stella only got her hands on Gaia not too long ago. Unless she's some super pilot or had trained on a simulator based on stolen data, she shouldn't be that good.

Yes, yes. I know that the EA trio (again with the three? ) have got to be good.

The scene where Gaia transforms and runs on the station panels was a laugh, though.

Cagalli was definitely not happy with Athrun at the end of the battle. Her expression on the bridge has got more than a bit of anger in it, but the tears later say something else. It'll be interesting to see how she takes him fighting again.

Edit - Hmm, I did not see her cry in bed the second time I saw this episode. Note to self: Get eyes checked, and possibly rewatch. Did the ending also use "GiNN" instead this time? Must be getting old.

Minerva's crew's inexperience is showing, IMHO, but they look to be getting better. Where are the experience cadre onboard anyway?

Yep, HaRoRuLeZ, we'll be missing your posts I'm sure there are some others here living in areas where SEED-D broadcasts, though. It's just whether they'll watch it. ^_^;

I hear "good action scenes" from LynnieS and I want to watch it now. But I'll be pissed if they pit Cagalli versus Athrun again. It'd make all the emotion they went through be in vein. But knowing Cagalli, she probably doesn't care... she's not the kind that whines and clings onto relationships (Possibly unrelated fact: they showed Fushigi Yuugi at a friend's house yesterday that turned everyone else off anime.)...

I really don't want to see Cagalli vs Athrun That opens him up to the other girls! No good.

The first 3 eps of Destiny haven't honestly interested me - but they have more than Seed's first few eps, at least.

I agree....but you'll always need some rivalry to spice things up! Who knows? Maybe Cagalli felt that she really love Athrun after seeing Athrun with another girl? Frankly, I don't really mind about Athrun's relationship. The only couple I'm interested in is Kira and Lacus. I only want to see Athrun back in action again. Cagalli is just er....way too tom-boyish

After watching the ending part of phase 3,I was wondering why Rey didn't go off with Shinn and Lunamaria...now I know after reading the summary...XXX vs XXX again~lol

One thing for sure is that Lunamaria is going bonkers on Athrun~

Spoiler for phase 5:

Looks like Athrun will be in action in the next episode. Its not known whether he'll be piloting Saviour, but we can see an image of Zaku Phantom before seeing Athrun in the pilot suit. And it seems like the next ep is about Junius Seven. Oh ya....Yzak and Dearka are also appearing in the next ep.

Yep. It seems like Luna is really interested in Athrun. Poor Shinn.....and anyone other than me find that Rey's Zaku Phantom's beam rifle seemed kinda powerful?

anyway i don't think they will give athrun saviour just yet. They have to develope a little trust with him i think. And we all know Athrun's record with red mobile suits. He never returns with em.

Can't wait to see Yzak and Dearkka though. I think they are doing a massive upgrade on Buster and Duel, and once the suits they are in now get damaged real good in battle, they will make a triumphant return. I think the producers didnt want to have too many gundams at the series start. And It would be much cooler at like ep 30 or so if Buster and Duel showed up again dont you think?

Honestly, I don't think Savior is going to show up yet. I never know when to use spoiler tags, but better safe than sorry.

Spoiler for Why I think so:

Impulse was on Minerva along with its pilot. If they put Savior onboard as well - leaving aside that it's one fast transfer given how quickly the ship left - it would make sense that its pilot would be there too. Abyss, Chaos, and Gaia were all in the hanger - most likely undergoing testing and preparing for final trials or to use to gather live data. My guess obviously.

The Chairman is getting on my nerve, though. That smug look and the smirk. Grrr.

Corrected/added one statement in my first spoiler as well. I went back to the episode to transfer it to DVD and decided to rewatch it while it's being copied.

Side note: The "shitsure shimasu" from Rei-kun was interesting, though, even though he had used it earlier as well. I don't know very many people who use it before leaving the room; it's rather old-fashioned, IMHO.

Yesss... loved the action in this episode. I liked the part where Luna shot at Stellar and Gaia going towards her. That was pretty cool. I also liked the part where Shinn listens to his sister's voice on her cellphone. That was a nice moment. Can't wait for Episode 5. :P

I felt the same way with Gilbert's look. The animaters express his face very very well.

Rey said "Excuse Me" which is very common. If you go to the restaurant or be in the meeting you will hear that phrase being spoken regularly. Rey just left that room to allow Lunamaria to be with Athrun. Rey is very smart and disciplined guy. I have grown my interest in his character.
