Tokyo ESP [Anticipation]

Tokyo ESP manga, serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Shonen Ace is getting an anime. Mangaka is Segawa Hajime, who also did Ga-Rei.

Spoiler for Summary:

I guess with this adaptation they can cover the entire Part 1 if they want to. My favorite thing about the manga has to be the cute interactions between the heroine and the hero. Hopefully a good studio and staff will take this project.

NICE, Japanese Heroes finally gets its adaptation. Just hope it's a proper adaptation this time and not a Ga-Rei Zero.

:O This is finally getting an adaptation. I haven't read the manga in the last two years, but maybe I'll have to pick it back up.

This manga's great. This is one of the few action shounen manga with a girl as the lead. More often than not the top-billing character's a guy in this sort of story, so I'm glad for the change of pace. Plus, the powers are really cool.

I hope they will use all the episodes for the first part alone though. Trying to cram stuff from the second part in it would be a mistake imo. Provided they're only have one cour to play with, of course.

I'm going to have to agree with Kazu-kun. A lot of those female leads in the lists you provided are either not the real lead or just passive observers of the male characters in the manga (Neuro for example) or don't do much of the fighting (Zombie Loan, later parts of Chrno Crusade). Or the female lead is just put into a terrible situation and she's just a pawn being moved by the plot (Variante, Arachnid, Blood+, etc). And then some of them just have really poorly written characters in general, making it not a very interesting read.

Whereas, Rinka is a really well writen teen girl, who goes through a tremendous amount of character growth after facing almost insurmountable odds. She actively pushes the plot forward with her own decisions, and her determination and courage inspires others to follow her. She has her own dreams and goals, and actively pursues them. The romance aspect is pretty well done for an action shounen too.

There really isn't a lot of manga with strong female leads like her.

I can't see the heroine as an animal, maybe you didn't read the summary too well.

Huh?

There aren't animal protagonists. The only animal is the MacGuffin.

I think you misunderstood something.

Any word yet on when this is coming out? I assume 2014. Spring? Fall?

Well it looks like we've got a little bit of something in regards to Tokyo ESP Anime. It's scheduled for a 2014 release, and we've got a magazine scan preview of the Anime, even though the damn glare gets in the way a bit.
