Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru: Dances with the Dragon Anticipation

Plot Summary:
Quote:
The series takes place in an alternate world, staged mostly in the city of Eridana, whose territory is half in the Tseberun Dragon Empire, and half in the Lapetodes Seven Cities Alliance. Each half is separated by the Orielal River. In this world, special abilities called spell formulas exist, which are essentially chemical reactions augmented through special weapons that cause a magic spell-like effect. These special weapons are called Magic Staff weapons, and are as varied as regular weapons are. Spell formulists use these spell formulas to fight with "Beasts of Abhorrent Form," natural creatures that use spell formulas and pose a threat to humans, such as Dragons, Aions, or Enormes.

The story focuses on the two main characters, Gaius Sorel and Gigina Ashley-Bufh, the only two employees of Spell Formulist dispatch office Ashley-Bufh & Sorel Co. They are met with a variety of requests from a variety of clients, all requiring the adept use of spell formulas.

Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru: Dances with the Dragon is getting an anime adaptation.

Kadokawa sneaker bunko and gagaga are two publishers I have some respect for so I guess I'll give it a try though I have no expectations or idea as to what this is about. Looks kind of episodic with them receiving requests from clients though.

This abomination that's filled with psychosis and malevolence is getting an anime adaptation after all these years?
And how?
This series is filled with terribly large amount of blood and gore and sex and madness and everything wrong.
Just how much censoring do they need!?!?

Warning everyone.
The writer of this series is as demented as the notorious Yoko Taro when it comes to writing.
As in, this guy is even more ****ed up in the brain than the Urobutcher.

Every letter he writes down is for the purpose to make his reader as uncomfortable as possible.

I hear Yoko Taro, I am interested. Can't find much info on the novels at all but the covers made me assume something more a more typical adventure series.

You know there's something wrong if the staff or some corporate entity is trying to advertise a show as "ultimate work that founded the dark light novel genre that changed the concept of light novels".

Uwah.

Okay ... I think I will be steering clear of this one.

Maybe that's the purpose, but from the description (and the title, what's up with the title) it seems to me the author is being a tryhard darkity-dark-dark chuuni edgelord. Maybe not, but that's the impression I'm getting...

I rarely ever watch things for the lulz, but I'm really tempted to do it with this.

(Also, "dark light novel". I know, I know, but it's still funny in English.)

Sounds fine to me. I don't think drakengard or nier were that bad though

We have had the same old same old recycled light novel adaptions. The second we get something new you guys freak out? No wonder why Japan has an issue trying to do something new.

To be fair in my case the issue for me is not "something new". The issue is the particular content of that "something new".

As it was described by others for me that happens to be the sort of material I just plain do not like, whether produced in the artistic medium of a light novel or film or poetry or ballet or otherwise and also whether produced in Japan or France or Brazil or India or any other country for that matter. ^^

If other people are interested in such subjects by all means feel free to have at it when it comes out, of course - not my cup of tea, though.

Well I'm not watching the same old same old recycled light novel adaptations, so there's that. More importantly, though, I'm not freaking out - going by description and the title I just find this ridiculous, new or not. Light novel, manga, novel or original material, pretentious chuuni edginess is not something I find worthy of being excited over in my ripe old age. (Been there, done that, still have the goth band tour T-shirts... )

Something new isn't something better or even good.
Those who say otherwise probably haven't seen recent anime originals.

That description paragraph sounds so awkward. Maybe it reads better in Japanese.

Rather have something new and fail than something that is proven to work and be good because of copy and pasted formula

There's a difference between doing it with style while still making you nauseous but masochistically wanting more(Yoko Taro)

And just plain nauseous (this)

Nah, Rabo has created a legion of masochists with his own style. The following was strong and kept him alive since 2002.
So yeah, it is the same for both Taro and Rabo in the end. Same methodology just different style.
