I don't know if anyone else is watching this, but I rather like it. Not as good as Skate to Infinity, but leagues better then Skate Leading Star.
I was not expecting the show to go this direction, even if that scene of them parting at the cross walk was rather ominous. I now wish they'd focused more on Sho and his background if this was what they were going to do. Also, I hope they don't take this development back. (But, who am I kidding?!) It would be rather cheap and cliche, if they go, "Oh! He just moved and didn't tell anyone."

I'm definitely liking it for the relaxing atmosphere. We really could use more of these kinds of anime to take us to further escapes from the real world we currently live in. Also, its a great way to showcase a new sport/activity that's not previously done before. Anyways, only thing I found it hard to believe was how MC was ok to suit up and paddle board without being good at swimming. To pull off the wave riding is a bit far fetched, but its anime, right? EDIT: I dropped Skate Leading Star because I lost interest in the premise (not a real sport, characters are unappealing/cliched, story is toxic/negative/revenge which won't do the sport of ice skating any justice, skate scenes were not animated as much as they could have - the list goes on...). I would much rather watch a happy go lucky anime that has sport as a medium to develop characters. Something like Harukana Receive portrayed beach volleyball in a good positive way, and wasn't too overly competitive. |
